True, its got to be better then the 2.2 - anything is.citroenxm wrote:Ah but peter..
the 2.0 16v replaced the older 2.2 so effectivly its cheaper then those to tax
the 1.6 16v replaced the 2.0 8v and so they are cheaper to tax.. the 2.0 16v is NOT an 8v replacment.

Ahhh!!!
So deffo need to get the belts done and check the injector clamps are undone and torqued back up
Cheers Paul, I thought it was just an improvement not an engine change but all cool. If it uses a egr cooler/heater as well I'll prob get that binned off as well, make the inlet tract simple and shorter.

1.6 is the newer Dv family of engines where the 2.0 was psa's second generation of Dw engines.. following the same idea of turbo on the back but it is a cross flow head unlike the 8v dw hdi is not.. both manifold on the back.

Re: C5 interior questions
thats EXACTLY what I said Will.. the 2.0 16v is a CROSS FLOW ENGINE...
Exhaust manifold on the back, inlet on the front of the head... SO a manifold on each side! Making removing bolts slightly easyer to get to!

Ahh sorry, tiredness, hints of hangover and chest pains are not good for processing info
IMO best engine design is inlet on the front and exhaust on the back, means the inlet gets semi cool air coming into the engine bay, over the head and then over the back and down out the back of the engine bay to pull some of the heat from the exhaust system

Re: C5 interior questions
Yea, cross flow engines are more efficient, as the internal air flow is smoother ...
DV6 engines are a little different, the manifold is urrm, sort of on top of the head! Not at the rear, and turbo at the front.
Despite the poor reputation of the 1.6 16v DV6 engine, it IS actually a nice engine to work on!
YES I SAID IT!

Re: C5 interior questions
Ha ha! I'm sticking to 2.0HDi units as they are just better suited to the C5. While im sure the 1.6 is fine but i'd rather ensure my old man has something that will pickup just fine when fully loaded
