The plus gas would be very useful James, but I'm ok to drive down myself as it's before, not after the op! I was planning on trying to get some plus gas and giving the relevant bits a good dousing! I'll need to put it on ramps though...

On second inspection, it doesn't look like a brake pipe.

It's the rusty pipe which disappears through the hole in the subframe to the right of the K-piece..

Image

This looks like it might go forward somewhere. The two lines I think are brake pipes are the ones coming from the left hand side of the "straight" bit of the K piece, and the one coming from the right hand side "leg" of the K piece. The rotten pipe comes out the right hand side of the "straight" bit of the K piece and up through the subframe..

Where oh where does it go?

Would comparing against Gracies' pipework help?

In which case I'm pretty sure it's suspension not brakes (the brake splitter being on the NS), and service.citroen shows that pipe as going to the height corrector, so it's a relatively short one. The long one for the suspension comes to the anti-sink valve.

I have no idea, it was just that (if it is a range common pipe) I thought it might help to compare.

The other thing is that it might be possible to do a few hydraulic checks (brakes, height changes) and see if any caused LHM to come out. Then we would have a better idea as to what the pipe did.

RichardW posted at the same time as I did.

Here is another view of the underneath. You can just see the driver's side rear suspension cylinder on the right of the pic. The K piece is just below the sphere at the top of the pic, and the pipe that needs changing is the dark (soaked in plus-gas) one that disappears through the hole in the subframe.

so does this mean a sub frame and or tank down jobby Mike :shock: :roll: #-o :-D :-D :wink:

you do know the coiled pipes are the rear brake feeds,

the other pipes to that height corrector look a little festered Mike

If it's a subframe out job, the bugger is going on eBay, I'm not messing about with that! Nor do I expect anyone else to. I shall investigate where this pipe goes tomorrow...

From what I can tell, it looks like the brake pipes have been done in the past, as they seem to be in good condition. The ends are horrid - so the original ends were likely reused, but the pipes themselves are generally sound. It's just that one that's bad.

I have just had a look under Gracie, and that 'K' join and pipe is there. I don't know where it goes, but the offer to compare against her still stands.

Item 12? Pipe either goes to the HC or the AS valve (3 or 4) - I can't see any reason why it has to go over the top of the subframe - just go via the shortest route. I think this is the pipe that Chris is having trouble with on his as well http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... =3&t=47780" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
