I cheat when it comes to emptying the LHM reservoir, I use a small hand pump into my oil drain tank. Saves mess, and makes it easier.

I ran my Xm on Hydro Flush for a long time as when I bought the car there was NO suspension movement on the front and only a little on the back. However the electro valves were u/s so I had to sort those as well. I fitted spheres all round and eventually ended up with Bx spheres on the front which seemed to give an acceptable ride. Although it was a work in progress so I did all sorts of things to it including lots of fluid changes and flushes. It had been looked after by the mythical ex Citroen mechanic before I got it. Yeah right! Loads of suspension info on the Xm forum most if not all is relevant to the Xantia I would have thought.
