Hell Razor5543 wrote:Based on the fact your OP says Forte (which is Citroen for LX!), and from what I have read on the forum, you almost certainly won't have the wiring for any seat electrics other than for the side airbags. The SX and above had the loom and connectors in place, even if the seats were the basic variety (although you still needed to fit some fuses, including a maxi).
Looks like no leathers for me then, quite fancied resting my left arm on the arm rest. Has anyone tried the universal arm rests with storage compartment that can be fitted over the centre console and screw into the side?

Good Try James BUT!

I have fitted S2 Leather into an LX.. The amazing thing is the Plug for the Sunroof Switch is STILL under the centre console..

So when I fitted the seats I picked up a + and - Feed from the sunroof switch and took it to the seats... It was rather easy to do really, BUT I did have to upgrade the Fuse box fuse slightly..

The seats will fit in perfectly fine otherwise. Just a bit of wireing to do if you understand electrics (Which in a car is not that hard really!)

So she shall have leather seats (at some point) which are better Series 1 or series 2 leathers, even if I don't have a sunroof, will the switch still be under the console, also anyone fitted those centre armrests?

You get some series 2 leather you will get an arm rest ALREADY fitted!!

S2 leather more common in electric, S1 is about but useually manual, unless its come out of a V6, but S1 V6's rare, they werent out till Late P reg, and the xantia changed on late R reg..

Seen a full set series 2 leathers £150, look nice need to get all things sorted on car before getting a set. Most likely will be mechanic fitting them and his son doing the electrical work, don't want to have to get a new loom fitted coz I've bodged something up.

You get your assistant to hold it/read it and then yell at them when the magic smoke comes out.

Hey, fixed the poor retracting seatbelts all round using Everb___d Dry Silicone spray, ordered 2 more cans. Followed Xantidote sprayed both sides of belts and openings gave all the belts a good 30 second work out and now they are like new, kids will have to get used to the belts pinging back now.

Cheers Xantidote

I solved my poor retracting rear belts by reshaping the plastic trim that they pass through. I had taken the lot off and sprayed the belt drum without success - even removed one to try and retention it (never again). In the end I reshaped the covering plastic and slightly widened the "ring" they run in (but this was difficult). I've been quite amazed that after two bouts of 2-3 year rest periods, they still work and she passed her MOT again yesterday!!!

I can get some photos but I have no on-line photo hosting account...
Pug Rifter long (20) - 41mpg - Gutsy for a 1.5!
Xantia 1.9 TD Temp.2 Break (97) - 208K@42mpg - Resting again.
Berlingo Multispace 1.6 16v (51) - 184K@36mpg - My shed! Still runs 15° retarded...

I agree the rear belts don't seem to be flush and straight they always look slightly crumpled in, poor design I think. Do your belts sit straight when retracted, over time I suppose that can cause a problem when retracting.

Use photobucket, sign in easy and you can copy and paste the links into your post (That's the way I've done it in past, I think) would be good to see your method.

Cheers dave.
