I'd start with clearing all the faults then carry out a BSI reset and see what happens from there, as mentioned it appears that there's been a current issue that has upset a number of items, if the fault reoccurs then I'd investigate further rather than get too involved spending hours looking for something that is no longer there.

Sticky cleared all the faults but haven't carried out the BSI reset yet - need to write everything down and do some test runs first!

Tried the cheapest option first ;-)

Saying that, I would feel more confident once nothing comes up after a week of driving.

Ours got better for a while after I changed the brake light switch, but then it deteriorated again. Given the faults on lack of speed info to the ECUs, I suspect you will be after a replacement board soon......

Richard, is there any way to check it to see/what to look for on a failing board ?

Not as far as I know - the fact that there is a loss of coms between ECUs seems to be the smoking gun. I read a few posts about it in various places, but although quite a few had been changed, there was nothing obvious in failure. It might just be a dodgy chip on the board.

If its the fuse box I might as well keep an eye for one and have it as a backup.

Did another diagnostic today

U1213 - fault in the vehicle speed information received by the CAN from the ABS or ESP ECU
U2005 - triggering (vehicle speed receipt anomaly)

nothing with the handbrake this time

U1212 @ Is not the AntiLock/ESP system the one that controls/actions the Anti-roll-Back system....which is the original fault message. ??

Cleared them all and will do another diagnostic tomorrow. Tried to do a BSI reset but chickened out half way when the window started going up while I was outside the car with keys on the ignition.

More than likely just the anti trap activated, let it sort itself out and away you go.
