Bugger. If you need/want to own something for twelve months in Australia then bring in RORO as a personal import, I can agist FOC on my property (approx. 430mm annual rainfall).

That figure for worldwide RHD production of the V6 seems awfully low to me. Don't forget the Japanese RHD market.

When I was trying to buy a Xantia in NZ in 2005 I did a lot of phoning around including some of the main Citroen dealers and when asking about the V6 and Activa I was told by the dealer that Citroen NZ only imported 10 Activa's and 300 V6's into the country, and although I didn't ask I got the impression there was probably something on the order of 5,000 - 10,000 Xantia's imported in total. Maybe his figures were BS, I don't know.

Certainly the number of normal Xantia's vastly outnumbered the V6 and Activa's, I never saw a single one of either for sale publicly in a whole year of searching, and that was back in 2005...but lots of 2.0/1.8/1.6 SX, with at least 5 on sale at any given time in 2005.

Even 300 would have made it rare to find in NZ, if its indeed much less than that there won't be many left.

Is there not a quota for importing classic cars? Maybe in a few years there will be more available.

Sometimes the change doesn't work.

Yes, there is a 20 year rule, but by then, there wont be many left to import.

I did not qualify for a personal import of my UK Xantia, so am stuck looking for a car.

I can agist FOC on my property (approx. 430mm annual rainfall).
That is about same rainfall as certain parts of East England. Some bits in Eastern Scotland have around 500mm.
Move over about 70 miles and the worst of the West Highlands have 4.5 metres

Yes; I always say "The rain in Ganmain, falls mainly somewhere else". Not quite the Mojave desert, but appreciably dry - wheat and sheep territory.
