Unless you know what the correct figures are for a running engine and what EXACTLEY to look for then the lexia ant gonna tell you what is wrong. It will only tell you if the engine management light is on.. you can then read out the faults.

The kit covers the older generation of cars that predate the centrol communication diagnostic socket those jump leads are for under bonnet use for use on bx ax and mark one xm and cx etc... on these cars you acess the ecu Directly via their own two pin plug... thats hat the "jump leads" are for...

The two USB to RS232 cables do the same job (middle left and bottom left), the only difference is their length. The main cable (top right) is the one that goes from the Lexia to the normal diagnostics port. Top left is the 30 pin connector used on the XM (I believe, and other similar age cars), but I have no idea about the middle right cable (although my kit also has one). The main part is the Lexia itself, top middle.

I am running my Lexia on Windows 7 (32 bit), and it works perfectly happily (not in an XP box, but directly under W7). The other software I was on about are the Citroen manuals (which the Lexia doesn't come with), but has a huge amount of information on a lot of Citroens (including the Xantia). However, if you get this software and then try to install it onto the same laptop as you are using for the Lexia (assuming you have already installed the Lexia software), something in the Lexia software gets in the way (I think it is PSAGENT, but check out Mandrakes' posts for better info).

This is the sort of thing I mean;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-servi ... 3a83447047" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

However, on some cars (XM, Xantia S1) there may not be wiring diagrams.

sorry to highjack chaps..

noticed yesterday that I cannot see all of the parameters on the lexia.. this is because I am running on a netbook with a small screen.. is there any fix for this? I am quite IT handy but..
I can scroll down when there are choices to be made, but not when looking at parameters shown in yellow etc

thanks

John, if you wait for Mandrake to read this, I believe that he knows of a way to resolve this problem.

it's a screen resolution thingy, there is a config file somewhere where you change the Lexia res.

I've never done it so I've no idea where it is but if you grab Mandrake he'll know.

Or go wind him up on his thread, that'll get a reply (maybe not the one you desire though ;))
