Re: Clutch Cable
If its the BLACK clip it wont be! They are ALL in "The Wrong Way", in which the head needs cutting off, old bolt sliding out, new clip fitting, a bole back in the other way, and the nut put on between the clutch and brake pedal...

Re: Clutch Cable
Guys.
It's all done.
Bolt was in the wrong way and it was on the original clip. B*st*rd of a job!
New cream slip was fitted this afternoon but I have fitted the metal clip on the wrong side according to the picture on service Citroen as link posted earlier by either RichardW or Hellrazor.
Not convinced that the metal clip could cause plastic cream slip to fail if fitted wrong way though but if it has to come off again, it simply has to come off again. I think on other link viewtopic.php?f=11&t=21201&p=295044 someone suggests that it is clearly touching when pedal is fully depressed!

Re: Clutch Cable
On the subject of clutch adjustment, is this measured to passenger side centre of the rubber pad?
And is it an absolute measurement in that? 155 from floor at right angles to centre face of pedal or is the depressed depth of approx. 20mm. deducted. Therefore, true measurement 175mm?

Re: Clutch Cable
It's pedal travel, so it doesn't matter where you measure it from - measure off the floor to the pedal face, then press it down and measure again. Difference = travel. You might be able to measure it off the steering wheel - not sure on the alignment. However, if it doesn't slip, and you can easily engage the gears, and the bite point is not right on the floor making driving difficult, then it will be OK!

Re: Clutch Cable
Cool. Thought I had interpreted it right. Anyway, in the end, I chose to go with 155 off carpet so approx. 135 travel and pedal is way above brake at that.
The metal clip is designed not to foul the clutch pedal but....
It is within a gnat's hair of touching the clip when fully depressed.
The reason my Citroen Indy neighbour says they generally go again is because the nipples chamfer slightly and force their way out of the clip not because of the clip orientation.
I hope it holds out. Not a job I want to repeat in a hurry. Touch wood!
