Its very good with the Xantia, where you can activate all the electrical items ETC..

But even more use for a C5 etc..

Yes, I think you should, the Berlingo has done near enough 35k with one on and no problems at all.

YES Defo put it back on John.

Mines off simply due to the fact that I never solved the Cutting out under HEAVY FOOT accelleration...

With a box on..its too tempting to put your foot down. I shall NOT be fixing the cutting out, and will use the Xantia till the Tax is out end of Febuary...

But Id recommend a tuning box to anyone, but not this tempeary fault I have...

Not on the Berlingo, curiously enough. I find it smooths out the power delivery at low revs in high gear. It's not happy to potter along at 30mph in 4th without the box, but it is with it. This saves me fuel as I can use the higher gears at lower speeds.

No, the filter is the metal tube that faces you when you remove the regulator - very small holes.

Peter I see what you mean now.. the very end of the shaft/tube feels slightly rough? this is the filter.. very fine..

yikes,, will try and clean one with compressed air to see if it helps my issue

But.. All I will do is push the rubbish inside. . And then destroy injectors... :-D

However. . If one clean makes the car start normally I think I will risk it.. to at last know what the problem was... then I guess it would mean a new lift pump.. New reg maybe. . And tthe end of 8 months of easy start ;)

Some of these regulators come without the filter, so I removed it from the one I am using now and its been fine, but if you do that it interferes with the seal so I would be inclined just to grind the end off but make sure you get all the swarf out.

Peter many thanks.. will do that in 10mins on the farm :)

why is it blocking and what will happen when it no longer filters.. worst case scenario (assuming that it is blocking - hard to see even with a close up pic)

I think its like the 1.6 turbo scenario, its the filter in the turbo oil feed pipe that blocks and destroys the turbo. My filter had metal filings sticking out of it, probably from the lift pump which I have now changed. I had three of these regulators and one was not fitted with a filter so I removed it from the original one and its working fine now.
