45 does sound a little tight for me.. although its been a while since I went near a cambelt.. sure I used to go for 90 or just under,,

others will know more :)

If its too tight it will whine, if it doesn't it probably isn't.

I've just redone it to 90 deg twist. Sounds better to me now. I noticed running the engine without auxiliary belt on (just to check cambelt) the engine seems to misfire, but with auxiliary belt back on it doesn't. Anyway it seems fine now.

Possibly low voltage because the alternator isn't working.
