Thats it! You need a decent amp?? Relay, am prety surr mine was a 70amp one, picked it up at the auto sparks place with all thje wire and bits, made a good amount of diffrence to the starter! Whilst at it, I also cleaned up the multi plugs in the engine bay and earth points too,

well rebuilt starter and put it bk on still cranking at 250-,,,just having a read of this thread.
http://forums.mg-rover.org/archive/inde ... 23243.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and it says a faulty injector will show air bubbles at its leak off whilst cranking...ive just tried this and 2-3 of mine are doing this
does this sound right to u guys?

this is an interesting post as he had same voltages as me to the fps..5v 9v and 1.5 and the cam sprocket woodruff key had snapped!
how would this show on a lexia and how couse i check without removeing the cam sprocket(getting board of removing timing belt now booo)
i take it the camshaft would still spin?
would it just loose its timming?
wouldnt it break a rocker?
thanks again guys

Re: 2.0 hdi xantia won't fire
YES if the Cam timing is out it WILL break rocker fingers...
I dont think a lexia will help you. Have you had the crank sensor out and cleaned/replaced it?
Hows the Cam sensor?? If its been distured and PUSHED too far towards the cam shaft pully it will destroy the end of the sensor.. There should be a little "Notch" sticking off the end of the cam sensor.. and the locating hole on the sensor SHOULD NOT be right over to one side... the screw should be about central.

Re: 2.0 hdi xantia won't fire
well ive finally got me lexia working and ive fallin in love with it
i got it working on an ancient laptop (compaq m300 lol!)
well the perminant fault codes are
fuel pressure sensor..short to positive or open circuit
glow plug unit...short to positive
problem is ive checked the circuits exept ecu...
what would cause the signal in on ecu to be reading 9v out?
thanks for ur help
