Don't be put off Jacksun. If you can change a set of pads and bleed your brakes the handbrake cables will be a doddle. IIRC the BOL gives quite good instructions for this job, it's even something I've done myself a couple of times. No garage should charge more than an hours labour.

phoned up bullwinkles they say 75 pound i was shocked. Getting welding on fri so hopfully be sorted

it says in the book you have to take this off take trim off where the hand break is. Remove a piece of the exgerst. Didnt see them do any of that stuff.

There are 3 cables - one from each wheel to the side of the exhuast tunnel, then a single one from there to the lever - you only need to remove exhaust and console trim if you need to change this cable - can't reacall anyone having to change one though.

I can recall them going inside the car to take off the center trim. They might have took the part of the exhaust off.
All i saw was the car went up stright away. Saw the bloke at the frount wheel what needed doing to it. About 40 to 50 mins later. The car was down. Then they drove it out.
I did say to bullwinkle. That didnt take long, In the book it says taking center trim off and bit of the exhaust. He just said theres ways round it.
