Bad news on the screen again Steve :( at least it's one issue that just involves only a few £££ and a phone all and not getting dirty!

I don't know about the flatbed experience Jim, my last major one helped me but my xm and was worth the £50 rate for a few more calls and saved me trying to drive from Sunderland area to Paul's!!

Oh no!!!!! That car is a rock magnet Steve

Still, at least you know a fitter who knows exactly how to properly replace it. The sealant won't have gone hard yet...
Is it the V6 or Steve who is the rock magnet?

That's quite an interesting point James, given that I was passing Sherwood Forest at the time, I'm just glad it was some years ago, otherwise it could have been a very different kind of projectile

Just back from what I agree was an excellent weekend, and the ABS light that came on on Friday seems to have cleared for now at least 920 miles covered over the weekend. Sorry to hear about the windscreen, that is really bad luck.
Look forward to seeing the body restored, David's Activa is also in for some attention body wise soon so we should have a cracking line up of gleaming V6s soon!

Indeed... I was visiting the local bodyshop that resprayed our 406 Coupe this afternoon to get an idea of having a couple of jobs on different cars done. I now also have an idea of what a full respray on the Activa will cost so will need to try and find a way of hiding a big expense from Cheryl

She doesn't see my car collection every day so I'll sell something and not tell her it's gone until after the Activa has been painted

I hope she doesn't read this forum David

Thanks for the gearbox by the way, it's safely here but still in the boot of the Activa. I need help to lift it out and suitable help has yet to visit me...

I've had a proper look at the car this morning and there's also a fresh scrape on the roof, where it looks like the rock has bounced of the windscreen and then slid along the roof.

I thought this car was beginning to get solved, I seem to be taking one step forward and two back, as SWMBO and I were talking last night, I began considering my options again.......

It's just one of those things Steve. Not the cars' fault at all.. Sod's law, poo happens and so on...

Metal I think, it can hang on a couple of months until I decide what to do......... my head says to consolidate the two, as does my wallet, but my heart tells me not to....
