Try lots of penetration fluid first and then heat Steve. Do you have an angle grinder incase it gets bad?!

Re: V6 Xantia......... the beginning of another adventure
I've tried the penetrating fluid and I don't have access to a blow torch, my old man's got an angle grinder so I will head over there next week and do it there, that way if I need anything, he can nip and get it for me.....

Re: V6 Xantia......... the beginning of another adventure
I like the idea of a Xantia trailer for yours Steve... Needs to be the same colour though... Perhaps use an estate back-end?
When is the National? I want to try to get to it and I hope I can.
Shall I bring the C1?

Towing dolly and you could bring two cars then Jim! If the towcar breaks down you can still continue and just send the failed car home on the flat bed

Re: V6 Xantia......... the beginning of another adventure
Hmmm. An estate with the front end subframe changed to a static dolly setup...
Suspension could remain unchanged then and stripped out and lined would prob be about 700kgs or less all in....

Re: V6 Xantia......... the beginning of another adventure
I've spoken with Paul tonight who has confirmed that the S1 and S2 tow bar are the same fitting, and the that yours truly (dozy sod that I am) was looking at the wrong set of holes....
and there m'lud, the case for the prosecution rests
There for I've taken the bar off sale and now require the use of and angle grinder (that's hat dads are for
) once all the old bolts and excess rust has been removed I plan fitting it ready for the national.

Re: V6 Xantia......... the beginning of another adventure
Plans are afoot......... for fitting the towbar on Tuesday, I went and picked the ramps up from my dad's yesterday. So hopefully everybody thing goes well.
I also got an issue with a sticky rear height corrector, which if I'm feeling brave enough I will have a look at and there's air in the system somewhere, it's a bit bouncy at the moment, and when I put her in low, she goes down nice and gently and then drops all of a sudden at the front, so system will get bled whilst I have the ramps so I can get under the front, because there's sod all room to get your hand in otherwise.
I also noticed there's a slight knock from the exhaust, which I think is rattling on the heat shield, so another thing to have a look at, and yes I'm doing t outside, so it should start raining Monday.
