Got round to putting another battery on it today, thanks again Will, what a difference it's made. There was one slight glitch on the way home, after I'd let her 'stretch her legs' in that as I came off the motorway the gearbox did it's 'party piece' and wouldn't change. :grr:

I'm going to organise getting the replacement switch over to mine in the very near future, now the weather is getting better and get it swapped out, hopefully, somebody can have a look at it and get it working again.

I also need to sort out the Lexia lead for the Xantia, I've had two now and both are......... broken :roll:

Steve, if you find yourself down this way ever I can swap your switch for you. I have a spare here.

Also, and I know I should know the answer to this but if you're at Wetherby on the Saturday I could do it then...

Jim, Wetherby would be perfect, but I'm not sure if I will be there yet, work are struggling to get cover.

Will, I know what you're saying, what I need first though is a working one to compare to before I start looking at the others, or at the very least a diagram of what pins connect where.....

I don't know if these help, Steve;

http://www.aussiefrogs.com/forum/attach ... socket.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://pinoutsguide.com/CarElectronics/ ... nout.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If these don't help, let me know, and I will get the multimeter out and start checking the pins on my 16 pin to 30 pin adaptor.

James, the first one does and possible the second, but what I could do with is the one for the round connection in the middle of the cable, where you can change the ends to 30 pin or OBD...... if that make sense :?:

Basically I have two ends and neither work, what I what is which pins in the centre connection feed the male 30 pin then I can fiddle around with the wires

The main cable I have (from Easy Diagnostics) has the round connector at one end, and the OBD-2 port on the other. I then would use my adaptor (16 pin to 30 pin) to look at older ports.

I know that my main cable works, as I have used it on Gracie and Northern_Mike's V6 Xantia. I have yet to use the adaptor. Which cable do you want me to pinout?

That's brilliant..... both ends would be good, then I can do the same and see where it's going wrong, I suspect it's rubbish soldering, but I want to try and compare the two before I start anything
