Cool, I've told Andrew he can have it if he wants it, if not then I'll get it sorted and put away, I only actually want the pads and discs, the rest of the stuff can go on one side until it's needed......

Just to clarify, you cannot force a multipoint LPG car to start on LPG. A single point car you can, but not multipoint.

Also, if you've got coolant anywhere near the LPG injectors you've got problems ;) The coolant should only be at the vaporiser where it uses the heat to turn the gas into a vapour from it's natural liquid state.

That bad strut top is well knackered! You still chasing all the little faults on yours Steve?

When the other side came off I was surprised it hadn't already speared the bonnet as it crumbles in your hand almost :(

But the other gubbins that are there should see you well for a while as I'm sure it was mentioned it had had replacement front bearings in the last few years and the discs and pads are plenty meaty with decent enough calipers but having them already stripped off the car it would be best to strip them and fit a new seal kit from brakesint and get the full benefit of you ever had to swap them :)

I was hoping fit the discs and pads this weekend, but I'm not likely to have the time to do that, until after Christmas if I Can't get it done on Tuesday.

I'm going to take the struts with me to the technical day at Graham Morton's on Sunday in the hope I have the opportunity to strip them down ready for me having a bash at them next week. Before I have a bash at doing the rears, the other option is to get somebody else to do it, and put some money in their pocket.

Well, I've loaded the Xantia for the Northern Section technical day tomorrow, thought I'd throw the struts in the boot in the hope of getting the bits stripped off I need and get them broken down into more manageable pieces, remove the strut top, disc's, pad's caliper's, etc that way I can store them more easily. There's no way I'm going to get them replaced before Christmas, I just don't have the time.....

The hole in the dashboard is no more thanks to Malcolm (Citronut) for supplying me with a recovered unit, He's also graciously sent me a recovered switch for the boot light, which I'm hoping to do tomorrow as well........ [-o<

I like your new festive avatar Steve :-D

The little black switch in the boot hasp is for the alarm and Hydractive switching. It can go iffy and be responsible for intermittent alarm activates and also for mysterious battery discharges because the Hydractive system remains largely in soft mode with the electrovalves activated. The total of nearly 3 amps they draw soon pulls the battery down..

In the New Year Paul

This is a good, normal winter so far. Fairly mild but damp and gloomy running up to Christmas and then hopefully cold, frosty and bright thereafter until spring..

Then we'll be in for a lovely summer :-D

Sorry I did mean the vapouriser :)
However unknown of at least 1 multi point system that let's you start on gas ;) I have no experience with single point systems but when you get a month down the line and haven't put a drop of petrol in the tank and the needle still reads dead on 1/4 full after being force started on LPG all the time it makes a difference :) mind you my commute to and from work was 4-5miles each way it soon adds up doing it that way :)

This was the sea wall at Mostyn the North Wales Coast

I'm not sure where this one was taken, I know it was along the same line, as you can see it was rather damp

This one was in Scotland
