I was up bright and early this was the sight that greeted me........

Not exactly what I wanted before I set to do the polishing, so I parked it in the sun and let the magic work. After that, a good wash and polish.

Much better........

To be honest, I haven't done much this week, mostly due to the fact I've been laid up in bed at the beginning of the week with some sort of virus...... :vomit1:

I'm off on Thursday, so the plan is to get the LHM filters out and give them a good clean, hopefully, that should improve the steering, it's "lumpy and heavy".

Sorry to hear of your illness...

If after filter clean, the steering is still lumpy, then it can then be the lower UJ joint on the steering colum..

Not too bad to change, but a steering colum off job..

Don't forget the top universal joint in the steering column just below the lower steering shroud as well...

My steering was already smooth and light compared to some Xantia's, when I had the steering shroud off doing something else I noticed it had no lubrication on it and thought why not grease it... so I greased the joint well and presto - my already light and smooth steering got even lighter and smoother, it feels excellent now. :-D Every little bit helps...

Thanks Simon, The plan is to do the filters first, if that doesn't work, then I've managed to get my hands on a gallon of Total Hyraflush, then I'll get my "man who can" to look at the UJ's

Right so I've done the LHM filter and it seems to have helped somewhat, I'm still toying the other the idea of Hydroflush, I will just have to think about it.

I decided on have a look at the boot light, I've checked and changed the bulb twice. I then decided to check for the wiring, and that's where I got stumped. I have a permanent live going to the unit, once the bulb is put in, I have a live coming back out. What I can't figure out is...... Wherever see the boot light switch? Where is the earth?
