I think this (8530Q9) is the panel that appears to be the one on service.citroen, but in real life it seems to look remarkably unlike the sketch on the service.citroen site?

good price, but difficult location...

We've actually talked about the leg being left in situ, but I'm no mechanic, let alone bodywork specialist, my man had a look today and didn't seem to worried about it.

I've decided that I'm going to wait until tomorrow night to see if anything comes from the third party, if not, I'm going to tell my people what offer I'm making them, with a deadline, if nothing comes of that, then my next option, will be taken legal action........ let's see how they like the fight taken to them.

You got a rear bumper knocking about, externally it's the only thing she needs, there's a blooming great crack in mine

The V6 rear bumper is unique as it has a wider cut-out for the twin tailpipes...

RichardW wrote:Good news Steve!

It shouldn't need a VIC as long as the insurance co don't 'write it off' - which you should be able to tell them not to, as it is a 3rd party claim.
even then it will only require a VIC test if it has a change of keeper,

they will and can put it down as a wright off or total loss even if it is repairable, the lable wright off or total loss can just mean the repair cost is more than 2 thirds of the value of the car, but does not mean it can not be repaired

Quick update, I had an email from the third party insurer, raising their offer by some 60% yes, I was quite shocked, but I here is still no comment on the issue of salvage, I'm in no hurry at the moment, but I'm thinking about what to do next...... 8-[

That's good Steve,

It's a bit like fishing - you have to play them a bit before finally landing them...

I have a good feeling the end result is going to be OK...

When claiming from a third party the car remains your property to dispose of as you wish.
I had a similar incident and claim with my Accord, drove it for a year then part-ex against the C5 estate.

Have you had a hire car Steve? I don't think you have so use that fact that you saved them money there. I did that when my car was hit by someone who admitted full liability. The insurer paid out into my bank account instantly, I kept the car and it was not recorded at all. Then you get it fixed and if you sell it tell the buyer it had a little bump but wasn't a write off and everything is ok.
