Steve, don't worry about calling me as we won't be wanting her as a complete car - none of us have the room sadly but we will be interested if she gets broken, something I sincerely hope does not happen. She's intrinsically too good.

Now if I had the room it would be perhaps different so on that basis I'm happy to hand first dibs as a complete going-concern to you Will

Yes, indeed; finding another in that condition will be impossible although I do know of a Silex grey one in Scotland

It would still be interesting to know what a body shop would say and a ballpark price to fix her...

I'd say you'd be looking at £2-2.5k as there is a lot of labour cutting the old sections out properly by the looks of service.citroen and then spraying up properly. Red as we all know can be a bugger to match properly :(
The wing, door, boot lid and bumper will need either a feather spray in or a complete spray near enough and feathered towards the edge of mating onto the next panels and the lpg tank will need taking out so the boot floor can be cut out and new one stuck in :(

service.citroen suggests that the rear body panels may still be available, and I suspect that there are a few NOS parts floating around. It would be nice to see this car saved, but it will require someone with quite a passion...

I agree, trouble is, for me at least it's more a time, space and weather issue, none of which I have in abundance for the foreseeable future.

when I look at the the things that have been done over the last 14 months, it's does make me wonder.......

* Head light not working - Now Done
* N/S/F door lock cap needs replacing - Now Done
* The LED on the dashboard need's replacing - different to the one I got off Paul - Now Done Thanks Malcolm :-D
* The switches on the drivers seat, need replacing - Now Done
* The heater matrix has gone - Now Done
* The headlight bulb's need changing for something brighter than the current 'candle power' - Now Done
* The leather needs a bit of TLC - Now Done
* Various cap's and cover's are missing - Now Done
* Rear parking sensor's need adjusting - Now Done
* There are only a couple of lights on the gear selector that work - Now Done
* There are a number of dashboard light's out - Now Done
* There's chrome numbers on the back of the car that need removing - Now Done
* Front number plate is 'cockeyed'. - Now Done
* Rear height corrector sticking - Now Done
* Exhaust is nosy - Now Done
* LHM Leak - Now Done
* Replace front fog light bulbs - Now Done
* Heater blower not working - Now Done
* Grease spare wheel carrier - Now Done
* Water Pump - Now Done
* Timing Belt - Now Done
* Replace Heater panel bulb - Now Done
* N/S/F drop link has play in it - Now Done
* Front Disc's and Pad's need replacing - Now Done
* Rear Disc's and Pad's need replacing - Now Done
* The ultrasonic's are knac........ not working correctly  - Now Done
* Intermittent starting problems, requires the mod - Now Done
* Air Con needs checking and re-gassing - Now Done
* Intermittent gearbox multifunction switch - Now Done
* The Cruise Control doesn't work - Now Done
* The boot light doesn't work - Now Done
* Replace broken steering column shroud - Now Done

but, I know this is something I just don't have the expertise to deal with, sure I could pressure the Insurance to sort it out, but I'm not certain that I want to be bothered, this sounds nasty, and I don't mean it to, I love the car, but I've had enough...

SWMBO said something last night that made me think too, she said "what is it with you and red cars? every red car you've had has been in an accident, 2 were written off (well, actually 1 soon to be 2) 1 you hated and couldn't get rid of quick enough (true, face lifted Xsara) and the C5 (to be fair the C5 was swapped for the first C6).

I'm more than happy to support Will to put her back together again and if he wants to carry on this blog, which I personally think is a good thing, then I'm happy for him to take it over too.......

I had a letter yesterday from the third party insurer, stated that their client has accepted full liability, so hopefully that should move things along nicely.

Well Steve you know me! If it can be saved it will be saved!

And I have a cunning plan that could potentially reduce the cost of this massively as well :)

It would be a massive shame to see her go down the copart route as she will likely be bought by someone for £100 and ripped apart just for the engine and lpg kit.

With the parts in stock at Citroen as well and being able to get a decent discount on them to I'd want to get her done right as well :)

I was thinking before, it might be a good idea if you could get up here over the weekend and have a look at her so you know exactly what you're getting into.....

Gentlemen, I'm delighted to see the car will be saved and good on you Will :-D

It's certainly worth it and your list you posed earlier Steve confirms that somewhat.

Excellent. I look forward to reading the accounts of progress with great interest.

This may sound daft..... but.....I'm actually quite happy that she is going to be saved, and I'm looking forward to supporting Will in the endeavour.

The good thing is that mechanically she's sound, I mean I've even just put new drop links on....... could have saved myself £40 there....... LOL
