The gearbox ECU will retain its learnt auto adaptive data for your gearbox when removed from the car, yes.
The data is stored in non volatile EEPROM and any newly learnt adaptions (from the current driving session) are written from RAM to the EEPROM about 20 seconds after the ignition is turned off.
Only an explicit auto adaptive reset with a Lexia would clear it.

Re: V6 Xantia......... the beginning of another adventure
Those are the same droplinks I fitted to my previous V6 - no complaints, except they didn't come with washers or nuts. (But that seems to be common with droplinks) I picked up a bag of suitable nylock nuts and washers from B&Q of all places for a few quid and still have enough left over to fit another pair of droplinks.
There are three styles of Xantia droplink - early ones (up to 1995 I think) had smaller threads and nuts, 1995 to some time around 1999 had larger threads and nuts, then the last ones from 1999-2001 had a right angle joint at both ends, so do a registration plate check on their site to make sure they are the right ones...

Thanks Simon, much appreciated.......
James, I can get OEM ones for not much more than that, so I think that's the way I'll be heading.... but thanks

Steve try your dealer or see if any dealers in their network have them on the shelf. They may be willing to do a deal to get rid of them

The Xantia went to the scrapper not that long after, but the links on the C4 are still OK after about 8k

Steve, yes, as Simon says about the ECU but don't fret as you have a working Lexia now so it's esay to re-initialise. I'll show you how tomorrow..

Re: V6 Xantia......... the beginning of another adventure
I've pinned out David's cable and there are a number of discrepancies between the two, unfortunately this is another of those roundtuit jobs........
I've read through the classic insurance proposal today and there are a number of discrepancies there too...... need to get them sorted for Thursday, when the Xantia goes on cover........note to self......
I've decided not to rush back tomorrow and have booked a hotel for the night, I'll have a nice steady 'bimble' back on Monday as I'm off work until Tuesday

This is where the trades policy comes in strong Steve as it just covers everything you ask it to and no little missing bits
It covers me and the cars on the policy fully comp. I'm a collector so mileage isn't a big issue and the value of the cars wouldn't be too silly either

Oh, yeah, I suppose we'd better do a bit of Citroëning........ apprentice spannerer at the ready Sir Jim

Good luck, I really hope Jim is able to nail this problem so that another Xantia V6 can be saved....

Re: V6 Xantia......... the beginning of another adventure
Good luck guys
I'm starting to wonder if we should have a national meet of all the Xantia V6 and Activas left on the road as it couldn't be more than 50 cars we all know about
