Is it a case of unclipping and trying to move all the cables to either side and gradually maneuvering/forcing/coaching the black plastic try out between the cables without actually disconnecting the cables?
..Then reverse procedure to re-fit?

Or do you end up having to disconnect a bunch of them?

Good to avoid all the struggling in the beginning if I'm going to end up having to disconnect stuff anyway :/

well you do need to disconnect your knuckle joints from each other, so your fingers bend in ways they probably havent before :yikes:

'The worst bit is getting off the stupid plastic cover that has all the pipes and cables clipped to it.'

getting it out of the way is a pain, making it all look like it did at the end, priceless ;)

re exhaust.. for the sake of two bolts.. dunno.. think I have always undone it as the engine will move around a bit during the clutch removal.. but those two bolts can provide an hour of fun ;)

I've never undone the exhaust, leaving it done up helps to stabilise thinks a bit if the offside mounting turns out to be knackered!

I just saw a few videos of a 'quick release' pull clutch bearing where the bearing can be released from the pressure plate.

Maybe a silly question...
If the clutch fork lever pin does not come out, approaching from the other end...can the bearing be released from the pressure plate instead?

the first back to front clutch i saw someone attempting, he ended up destroying to old pressure plate as he forced the box away from the engine,
so a second Mr Clutchman with a NO

Genuine one on e-bay also Aftermarket ones there for about £10. Dealer price is £17.04 as per the e-bay ad.
Think I missed something, do I change the seal to go with the 'clutch buffer guide bush' yes?

the seal is contained in the guide tube. YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO CHANGE THIS. It often needs changing on the push type clutch because if the release bearing fails it chews up the guide tube. On vehicles fitted with a pull-type clutch (yours) the bearing is not in contact with the tube. It is fixed into the clutch cover.
