Ahhh, 'steelies'.. steel wheels :p
Yup, I'm running on steelies :) Good point! That'll stop the whole car falling on me, with the 1 metre long 1" breaker bar (persuade-atron), I'm going to use >:D

Don't forget to spit inside the bellhousing before you reassemble it all. This is to show the engine you are the boss; anything it throws at you is able to be overcome by a cognisant being.

hey-up,
So I've just ordered a valeo clutch kit for £83.59 from carparts4less
Thank you ecp for randomly dropping then increasing prices else I wouldn't have checked around a bit more and managed to stop another twenty quid from being syphoned off from me.

cp4l seem to be just an online version of ecp and so reduces their running costs by not having a store?
If it is them, then filling that void before someone else gets in there is good business plan.
Same web front end as ecp and gsf.
Annoyingly they seem to have exactly the same 'voucher, promo' codes to get to the less expensive prices.
Is a pain they don't just say, 'we make x% on all goods', so there isn't this silly game of looking around for the least hiked up prices :/
~ sigh

..is kinda funny when I'm waiting in ecp store and I keep hearing the same old awkward discussions.
Customer: "But it said this much on your webpage".
Staff: "That's our on-line price, you need to click and collect to get that price"....
Customer either then pays the hiked up charge or walks off disappointed.

I stood there once and did it on my phone in front of them, and 5 mins later I had the on-line price.
Just such a silly game :/

I wonder if you NEED people to be paying a higher price to enable others to put in the extra work and time to get a less expensive price.

If it was all just at a set percent profit the people who are involved more in the topic who've build up a working knowledge of when, where and how to purchase parts would lose out in general. hmm

Following on from another discussion on here regarding some drop-links I purchased from ecp, maybe it's just the Make of part that's the problem rather than where you get it from? :/

i think that E company squeeze there buying in price down so much the quality has to suffer, i call it the T*E*S*C*O syndrome,

i purchased a Bosch lambda sensor in a Bosch box from the E company, fitted it took the car for its re/test and it failed on the lambda sensor, went back to my workshop fitted the old one and it passed the emissions test,

and there's been other dodgy parts from them

Regarding these diff seals, I don't suppose someone could tell me how much more time/effort is involved in replacing these whilst changing the clutch?

Do I have to pull the gearbox apart?

Just wondered as at the moment I'm a little vague on how the whole gearbox and diff are fitted together.

Many thanks, romie
