The clutch is lovely and soft, just got a few silly little bits and pieces to sort out now. It's on the driveway which allowed me to put the Peugeot 605 in the garage ready for tinkering once the XM is done!

more likely the exhaust is assembled to the engine before the bodyshell is lowered into place, addo wrote:If they are the sprung type of bolt, I suspect there is some assembly line tool to compress the springs and make threading on the nuts easy. I have "walked" the assemblies together using sleeves of increasing length to pull the bolts tight.
Kev i think the answer is drop the engine outred_dwarfers wrote: I must have spent a good hour getting no where with this exhaust. The problem is access on the OS bolt. The car, cat and steering rack heatshield are all in the way. I've removed the stabilizer bars to see if I can wriggle the engine around, tried to get my hand around different ways but still can't sensibly get enough grip on the nut to turn it. The current line of thought is to try and remove the steering rack heatshield. I'm getting there! I've also ordered a new bolt kit from my local motor factors so the threads should be a bit cleaner.
