C5 1.6HDi filler cap switch

I think I beat the sensor but the point is the "Antipollution System" warning disappeared when operating the sun roof!!!

...as I said, replacing the switch cured the problem. However, yesterday the "Anti-pollution system faulty" message came up! No apparent loss in performance (went to Eastbourne and back - 180 miles) but message and fault lamp (like an engine) still showing but no "service" lamp lit so I guess it's on the phone again to my independent Citroen specialist tomorrow!

Guess what? I opened my sunroof fully, decided to close it as a shower started and.... The message disappeared and the faultlamp turned off!! And it's stayed off (so far!)

LOL...there is a thought....SunRoofs and Window sensors that detect "Unwanted Smells"....LOL

It happened again. On the way back from Eastbourne the service lamp came on, it whistled and the message"Depollution system faulty" came up. Thought about booking it in for an early service but had to go to Worcester (300 miles round trip).
It whistled, service lamp stayed on and the same message came up each time I started the engine. Was just going to phone the garage when I thought..... ?
Turned on the ignition started to open the sunroof, closed it again and started the engine. Result: Service lamp out, no whistle and no message!!! Perhaps I shouldn't go to Eastbourne!

As a (slight) aside, has anyone ditched the dpf on a mkII? Is it as easy to do as a mk1? It's just a damned sight cheaper than either £250 or £500...

On the 1.6 HDi the DPF and CAT converter are combined in the same housing. Also any price you see is usually the exchange price.
(Used a Lexia and found that the filler cap switch isn't being operated by the magnets in the cap!)

Just had the same problem: Service lamp on, a whistle and the Message "Depollution system faulty". I eventually (after panicking!) turned the ignition on, partially opened and then closed the sunroof and started the engine. Result: Service lamp out, no whistle, no message!!
For interest, I've just found a company which supplies simply the DPF (which can be split from the CAT if the car still has the original CAT/DPF) with full fitting instructions for £130 :
