ya ive fairly good trust in the mechanic,havent had any bad experience with him yet
anyway.and if it was that rocker snappin was the problem,would that be an expensive
job to fix or would it be worth it?

Much cheaper than the old engines that broke the camshaft and bent the valves. Get an estimate.

went and got a 2nd opinion this morning to a mechanic come scrap dealer.told him the
story of what happened the car.he says the engine sounds fine and the blow up the oil
filler cap is nothing to worry about.he thinks it could have been an egr valve that got
stuck open or closed and just righted itself again.is this something that could have happened
or is likely to happen again?im tempted to keep driving the car away and see what happens
but the wife is worried it will happen again while she driving it.

I do that with mine anyway :wink: if its not dangerous or falling apart I keep driving until it stops and I haven't had one do that for years now.

iv disconected my egr jus by removing the pipes from electrovalve...and putting the main vac pipe to the turbo electrovalve and my turbo response change majorly

thanks for all the info guys.well still driving the car away and not a bother with it.its not down in power and everything sounds
fairly ok.maybe a very slight miss or knock in the engine but going to keep going till it stops.
