Also, Ben, what colour coolant is in yours? the blue stuff or the orange stuff?
Don't want to get the wrong stuff in it.

Re: C5 V6 Timing Belt Conundrum
I believe it's blue, if I have time in the morning I'll see if I can check...However if I remember from what I've read (since all my coolant so far has been provided by the local indy, I am like you a bit concerned about getting the wrong one), there's two points:DHallworth wrote:Also, Ben, what colour coolant is in yours? the blue stuff or the orange stuff?

1) Colour isn't definitive of the type of coolant, and some can be dyed different colours, so cannot be relied upon for getting the right one.
2) It's that you shouldn't mix the coolants together, if you're starting from a completely flushed system then as long as you stick to the one you chose, then you can't pick "the wrong one" (as long as it's to spec of course).
In the service book, the citroen part numbers for them are
9979.70 (£7.32) or 9979.72 (£7.62) for 2l, and 9979.71 (£15.49) or 9979.73 (£19.04) for 5l...
I'm guessing .72 and .73 are the longlife stuff since they cost more. For a quick compare it looks like halfords is more expensive anyway, so might be good to just get the stuff from Citroen.

Re: C5 V6 Timing Belt Conundrum
Ben,
We buy coolant in 25l bottles from Millers Oils where we've got a trade account so I've got both types at home. I just need a bloody hose to put it in lol.
I'll probably fill it with the orange OAT extend coolant.
David.
