Replacing bulb on BX interior lights - and the lamp cover crumbles as soon as you touch it.

My favourite gripe concerns everything (that needs attention) on a BX\Xantia etc being hidden behind the engine, oh and razor sharp components, do dealers routinely remove the engines during maintainance?

No, but I can tell you something that has become more of a necessity than an option in recent times when working on BX or anything with the east/west engine set up; a hoist connected to lifting points on the engine, release the top engine mounts and swing it around where you want it and brother, does that ever make a difference to the access at the back of the motor...[;)][:D][8D]

Must say the things that get on my nerves with my zx 1.4 are the following: -
Bloody oil leak from the headgasket (having to top oil occassionally)
Noisy windscreen wiper motor (fixed it today looose on it mountings)
Wheel trims that look like something out of star trek, big disks with no holes just a chevron in the middle and weird shapes on the outside planted on the wheels.
But hey its a citroen and I think that some niggly things adds a bit character

Gripes for my N reg 16v Xantia.

Boot lid that I was convinced had been resprayed from a rattle can.

Front and rear screenwash. Both have never worked at the same time.

Changing the nearside steering damper gaitor. You have to be kidding!

Front foglights that are always threatening to fall out.

Drivers seat that over a period of weeks reclines by itself until one day I can only just reach the steering wheel.

Squeeky gear linkage. Oil, squeeks within a day. Given up.

The posessed sunroof. I'm convinced it's haunted. It's the only explanation.

I'll mix it up with Renault annoyances:

Mégane 2003 - Ever changed a headlight bulb? It's a fantastic experience of building up a mental image in your head of what you can feel with a few fingers squeezed in through the flap in the wheel arch. Renault just didn't bother with being able to access them from under the bonnet!

Automatic windscreen wipers reacting to sunlight as well as water!

The passenger seat belt holder rattles against the centre armrest storage box if you don't tuck it in while not in use.
French is best.

Lol! I hadn't seen the dates! Nevermind. Good to see we have the same niggles now as we did a few years ago! Some things don't change.
