I`ve rebuilt lots of Peugeot rear axle`s but gave up years ago as it was not cost effective. It will be all seized up,the radius arm shaft will be damaged, you need special tools to replace the inner bearings,if the outer bearings are completely destroyed the new ones wont fit properly, difficulty setting the ride height etc etc it takes for ever to do.
I started getting overhauled assemblies from Mountjoy Engineering (as above)never had a problem. £350 delivered to my door, couple of hours labour, job done, fully guaranteed.

Was one of the reasons I got rid of the 205 although it was not too bad and it went through the last MOT with me just fine.

I foresaw a large list of items for the next MOT when that was due so I sold it with a couple of months MOT left.

There were no decent ones in the breakers at all, so if I'd kept it (tbh if it was a 3door I would of kept it, a 5door genuine D-Turbo model did seem odd) so it would of been a company such as this to supply a replacement.

91 205D-Turbo, gone but still missed
02 106D, TUD5B, gone but not really missed apart from the MPG

When I was at Mountjoy last summer, the owner of the shop showed me a box of new radius arm shafts that his guys had turned up. They were about to be sent off to Birmingham for hardening. Each beam gets two new shafts.

Interesting that they make their own shafts.

The Polish mob use an SNR kit; their beams are a tenner less delivered and include axle stubs, but you have to make available the original for collection.

This sort of job all depends on the condition of the car, milage and how its been looked after etc.

If the car a mess or things wrong with it and big milage you wouldn't bother etc.
