I bought a can of primer and two of black yesterday with that very intention. Got 5 of them now so can do them one at a time and keep car running, although 2 at a time with car on stands wont be a prob either. Are your wheels 18"? And a bit wider to fill arches better? Should look really good.

I bet it looks great with them on Peter - do you think you'll go down the route of slightly lowering it to complete the look? Sometimes you get away with it as I think the VTSs sit a bit lower?

Well I was going to suggest facelift Loeb stickers...! But they are a bit marmite!

Indeed Davie the Resolfen's will look good in black - I remember the one Peter posted up before.

That sounds a good plan. My wheels are 18" but with lower profile (225/40/18) tyres so the overall diameter is the same as standard so as not to alter gear ratio & speedo accuracy. They look a bit wider, but not much as I think the offset is the same so some of the width is on the inside.
I found that link to black wheeled VTS..http://www.tuningtour.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=12353" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I like the look of it, not too "in your face" as I said, looks like yours! I may lower it a bit at some point, but not just yet even though it has fairly hefty arch gaps, but I don't mind that (it had new springs last year, be shame to waste them!). Although I really liked your graphics when I saw them in the flesh, as an "old git" I want something more subtle! If I was a 19 year old student again, then ok. I'm already in danger of being labelled an old boy racer!

Makes sense if the springs are fairly new then - get the use out of them!

I'm always being called a boy racer! I think it's a combination of the spoiler and also the graphics too but I know that the C4 is a better choice than the Polo and Corsa brigade...!

I think the operative word in my case was "old" ha!

I agree the C4 is a great choice & has so much more character than most other modern cars.

Despite the rain, i managed to get it a bit cleaner today, so some pics...

Well, you might have cleaned the bodywork, but you skimped on the rims. Looks like some waste oil got on them!  :lolhit:

That's looks fantastic, Peter. 8-) What make are the wheels - are they Team Dynamics?

Now I know there's possibly an element of bias in my opinion (!) however the Black with Black combination is definitely a winner. Looking at those wheels in the pics they're not that far off the design of the standard wheels that I've got on mine. I see what you mean about the arch gap, however it's not too bad - about the same as my C4 I reckon.

Facelift rear lights?! :-D

A few subtle mods and you'll have yourself your own VTS Loeb!

I like. But you do need something on the sides. How about orange calipers and orange stripes, nothing major just a thin and thicker stripe along the sides just above the sills. By the look of the photos wheels arent minters tough, is there some minor kerbing? Still good tho.

A bit of touching in on the edges of the wheels will make them look better, I didn't notice it on first look.

I think it looks good from the side on - subtle. Maybe paint the calipers red which would match the red of the rear lights and the VTS badge?

She does look good (despite my previous mickey take comment).

You could consider going stealth. De-badge her, or (IMO) replace the chrome badges with black ones. Leave the exhaust though.

Well my wife said something similar, while my youngest daughter described them as "b*tchin' rims"!

Thanks!

Team Dynamics 1.2 Pro Race (apparently!)
As I said, it looks like yours really & that's not a bad thing!
You got it, new lights.

I thought I'd go for the stealth look, I want to paint the calipers black as well.
No the wheels are far from mint & really need a refurb, but that will have to wait, just a touch up for now. There is some kerbing, but also some of the laquer is peeling & despite 3 scrubs with Hotwheels a lot of caked on brake dust still. Despite this, I'm pleased with them as I basically swapped them for mine plus some other bits, lights etc

The trick here is subtlety. Done properly it will get you noticed.

I am reminded of a family tale. My cousin Ailsa had been invited to a posh dinner dance. This was at a time where the ladies were expected to show off their jewellery, to the point where you could hear them clanking as they walked. Ailsa, ever the canny one, thought about it for a moment, and when she arrived at the ball she was very definitely noticed. She was wearing a full length Royal Blue ball gown, with one small silver brooch. We still don't know how she survived; she should have either died from exhaustion (all the dance requests from the gentlemen) or from all of the murderous looks from every other lady there!

I shall do a bit of touching in, but the kerbing is not that bad. Having looked at the photos again, what looks like kerbing is actually the makers name lettering stamped into the rims!
I don't think I'll go for red as you see it too often now.

I thought of stealth as well & typed it before seeing your post, so great minds...
