seems to be a bit temperamental this lexia.....it now isn't finding my vin number so it's asking me for the vin number and the rpo number.....I am going to try it again tomorrow but it seems a bit hit and miss so far??

I find that happens if the cable to the car isn't firmly home. Or the Ecu has "gone to sleep", I.e put the ignition on (don't start the car though), generally by the time my virtual machine has booted, the Ecu has dozed off. (Don't blame it) I try to get everything ready before taking it out there etc.

Best to turn the ignition off (if already on) and back on again a few seconds before attempting a connection, (it does tell you to do this) as some of the ECU's will go to sleep after a while of inactivity.

ok,
thanks for this info......I will try again in the morning........at least I know it does work so i suppose it's just getting to know these things :) oh, and I had the engine running cos it was pretty nippy.....didn't know it shouldn't be running.don't get a lot of info with it to be honest.........trial and error,and mostly help from here :)
