Re: lexia 3
I have only used it on a 308, but i think that the 308 has the same bus configuration as the C5 X7

Re: lexia 3
The issue is not the software version of Diagbox, it is to do with the quality and type of hardware used in the VCI. Some of the clones do not contain all the hardware components needed to work with later full CAN vehicles and later electronics like the C5 X7.
It's all covered in the dedicated thread here:

Re: lexia 3
The not working means cannot see the car, or only not working properly. So if possible to try the used one, can I realize this is okay for me or not?

Re: lexia 3
I'm not sure I understand your question. There are several possibilities, but if the hardware is missing essential components then it will not talk to the car ECUs (computers) of which there are over 20 of these in the X7.
If the VCI cannot communicate with the ECUs then you cannot do anything and it will be a waste of money. All we can advise is the kits sold by easydiagnostics are full chip latest revision models.

Sorry, one question mark missing. So, The not working means cannot see the car, or only not working properly?
But your answer is clear. If I can try, probably I will see that good or not for me.

Re: lexia 3
Well both really - the non full-chip kits might see the car, but won't be able to interrogate the ECUs. If it cannot talk to the ECUs. then there is nothing that you can effectively do with the kit. You can't make any changes or run diagnostics as it won't read the BSI or the other ECUs, so the same thing in effect.

Which OS recommended if I want to use Docbackup and Lexia? XP? Or also win10 okay? 32 bit or 64?

Re: lexia 3
Stick to a 32 bit OS for more compatibility with older cars re Lexia. Lexia is a 16 bit application and won't run on a 64 bit OS unless running under a 32 bit OS installed on a Virtual Machine.

When I fire up my Lexia (running on a notebook running Windows 7 32bit Starter) it used to say (and may still) "Do not install Windows 10". I take that to mean that either the Lexia or Diagbox (or both) have compatibilities issues with Windows 10.

Tell that to Microsoft - back when they were upgrading users machines to Windows 10 without consent, even if they clicked the close button of the window trying to talk them into Windows 10!

Re: lexia 3
I know of somebody who left their laptop on while it was doing something (and they were AFK for a long while). When they got back their laptop was crippled, and 18 months work was irreversibly corrupted (and no backup, as they had never lost any work before). Microsoft had, at that time, been so certain EVERYBODY would want Windows 10 when offered it that their installation system would install Windows 10 UNLESS you clicked on NO within a short countdown.

Re: lexia 3
So the win7 32 bit is good. Also for docbackup?

Re: lexia 3
I haven't tried it for Docbackup (or Sedre) as I only use my notebook for the Lexia, and my main PC for Docbackup.

Yep Winn7 is good, get it fully patched, it watch your browser, IE V9 or 10 is good, but V11 contains code that won't work with DocBackup or Sedre.

I've now edited their original post on this matter, as they have not responded to us regarding any offers for members, after having plenty of opportunity to do so. Thanks for advising us of the inconsistency.
