I think I'd go for Parrafin and lots of little brushes. I'd be reluctant to put water in there especially at high pressure. With paraffin it'll just blow out the exhaust as smoke for a minute when you start it up rather than rust forever with water.
Or is the rocker cover on there? In which case I'd degrease and pressure wash.

That is what I think Jim, but I will need to clean this lot up to see exactly what is leaking. At least genuine Ford in a Peugeot box seals are only £35 delivered.

Re: Davie's french attraction.
That is very unfortunate Davie
It seems a very common problem to have leaking injector seals on the 1.4HDi, the internet is littered with posts about it. Hopefully it'll be an easy fix but I understand getting the injectors out can be a pain, not to mention removing the carbon build-up.
I bought a C2 1.4HDi which had one or two leaking injector seals, unbeknown to me. It seemed to rapidly get worse within a few days of buying it and started to smell strongly of fuel when in traffic. I returned the car and got my money back having seen other repairs on the net.
Good luck with it

Oh yes, just like my old onedaviemck2006 wrote: Only 2&1/2 hrs to wait![]()

Bet it'll go for far more than the £960 the bidding is at currently (just gone 6PM)
I'll be watching that one closely...

You didnt really believe that a fiesta van was going to be it? I am keeping it, it will be the daily hack that I dont really care about. The 205 is between myself and son, and as an investment. It wont do much miles, be kept in daughters garage and only come out when dry. It keeps me french

Re: Davie's french attraction.
Yes Mark. It shall be coming north on Saturday. My son in law gets free rail travel being an engineer with scotrail so as my health is not too great just now he is going down for it for us. Looking forward to my first drive of a 205 gti. I always wanted one but they were too small and impractical for us with a young family way back then. In 1990 I was in my BL/Rover stage and bought a brand new montego 1.6 as the family car at a mega discount, but it was still 8&1/2 grand if I remember correctly, and needed 3 resprays in the next two years!

You're not supposed to respray it with emulsion paint Davy
