It should be hilarious, and I'll get to watch Brazil vs Colombia in a bar in Bogota before the wedding :-) It could get tricky as the wedding is at 6 and the game kicks off at 4...

He's still your little boy Davie and always will be just like my two little girls even though both all growed up now...

Yep they will always be my bairns! I'm not happy and having to do a massive rethink. Went round to the garage at 8am with the bearing kit and reminded them that I need the car tomorrow. They said see what we can do. Just back from there again, the car still has not moved from where I parked it on Monday morning. I said can I get it tomorrow at 12? Not a chance I was told. If we had had the parts earlier in the week it would have been done. I asked them whose supplier let them down on Friday last week? They were told to order the parts last Thursday at 3 pm. I told them when I booked the mot that it was out 3rd July and I needed it done long before then as I had a family wedding. They also knew at that point that it would probably need a bearing kit. First time i have gone there, it will be the last. I've really not had much luck with garages since my trusted one retired last year. I still have a trusted mot station, but it's 25 miles away. My oldest daughter's astra due mot on the 24th July. She stays 2 minutes from me. It will be going the 25 miles for its MOT.

Never said. They haven't even done the track rod ends. If my physical health had been better I would have taken it away there and then. The contingency plan is my brother in laws black mondeo. The bridesmaids will still look good but it would t look so good behind the white vintage roller Valerie and I shall be in, even if it is a titanium-x and a nice enough car. I do have a 5 litre tub of dulux white emulsion that at least make it the correct colour!

Based on what has happened, may I suggest that (using the Not Recommended title) you add that garage to the Recommended Garages and Services section.

However, might I also suggest (at the risk of receiving a Glasgow Kiss!) that, in the future, you pop the car in for its' MoT a month before it expires. That way you can still use the car if it fails (as you still have the month before the old MoT expires), but if it passes the new MoT starts when the old one expires. If you look at the MoT certificate you will see that the DoT allows you to do this.

I'll give them a chance yet. The wedding is on Saturday, although I'm booked into the venues accommodation tomorrow. If i get it at 12 at the latest then I'll manage, just but if I don't have it BT then it's too late, as my older daughter picking me up about then. It will have to be a bloody quick clean it will get too. At least it was polished recently so won't be too bad to do again in an hour for wash hoover and polish. Probably BiL's mondeo will need a bigger clean on sat morning!

I initially went and booked the test first week of June, I told them the test ran out 1st July and I wanted it done in plenty of time cos of the wedding. The guy said sorry the tester is on hols next week and is busy the start of the next but we'll take it in on the Thurs after that plenty time. I pointed out the rear wheel lean and said I am pretty positive that it needs done and he said no problem. Effin liar.

Shame you don't live nearer Davie, I would have offered you the use of the C6, still...... here's hoping you get the right result, just a thought though, have a chat to Paul Savill [email protected] he has a list of members with Citroens that are available for hire.....

That would have been great Steve, thanks for the thought. I'll have to look at the CCC. I am intending keeping this c5. It will be a good car once I have done the fettling I want to. Not too much really, mot repairs, I'd love black heated leather seats, timing belt and water pump, DPF removal and remap. I would then need to go to a friendly mot man!
