Away to get my son up to give me a run to the train station to go for the c5. 40 miles by car, then two trains changing stations in Glasgow, takes about 7 hours in total. I'll drive home in about 4. Bloody public transport. The car is a necessary evil for me. I love cars and driving also, and have done forever but I really hope this c5 will be a good one and I don't have to change it for ages. I just want comfort, reliability, and cheapness to run. And I did have a macdonalds yesterday lolol

Stupidly it is cheaper as my poor daughter knows. She uses a combination of her car and buses from the Park and Ride to get into central Poxford every morning... The buses cost her more than her car does..

Currently she's temporarily banned from driving due to an eye problem and is totally reliant on the public stuff. She moans about how awful the bus interiors are, the bad ride and the noise and not least the obscene expense.

That's not going to persuade anyone out of their cars is it?

She much prefers dad's Taxi at the moment - especially of the XM variety!

As an ex bus driver I know that buses are shyte. It takes for instance two hours to get from Macduff to Aberdeen by bus, 42 miles and 1 hour by car. The bus only goes once an hour during the week and 2 hours Sundays. Cost 12 quid I think. That's no use for me when I have hospital visits, as I need another bus to get to the hospital. I always tried to treat passengers as I would myself but it wasn't easy when I was getting constant abuse from some of them. That'sone of the main reasons I stopped service bus work and went Iinto coaching, then the airport car park. Being a bus driver would be a good job if it weren't for the passengers :-)

Only done 47 miles so far in the c5, and what a pleasure to be back in one. I haven't used a gallon of diesel yet according to the trip computer. It needs 2 tyres and the seat height adjuster handle is disconnected and it needs a big clean, and there are loading scuffs on the back bumper and boot trim. That's about it so far. I only came across to my sisters so more will be found out tomorrow on the 220 miles run home. Overall I'm happy with it right now.

You're so young James..

Dinkys were toy cars we all had as kids back in the 60s... A bit bigger than Matchbox cars but not quite as classy as Corgis...

I prefer Alsatians. I was brought up with one, and he was the nicest canine person I came across. 32" at the shoulder, long haired, and completely trustworthy.

I detest Alsatians. I got bitten by one when a security guard in Greece set one on me for no other reason than I was walking (quite legally) across a supermarket car park at 4am, after alcohol had been taken.
