D'oh!! None of us suggested that....

At least it's sorted. When something goes wrong always check first a) the thing you did last and b) the simple things!

Well I do have an unwanted ECU/BSI but its not broken! It will have to go onto ebay and hope I get some money back for it. Its definately ok as the car has been running on it, but then as the original is back in and the car is running well on the original one. It is not MOTed yet so I still havent driven it yet.

That's cool Davie, I only want faulty boxes to play with. As your originals are in working order, best get your money back on the spare set and spend it on the MOT. :)

It lives! It has an MOT! The mileage is cocked up with having had a different ecu in, it has jumped from 88000 miles to 149000 miles! It has 3 advisories, minir exhaust leak, probably from where I took off the dpf and cleaned it, slight play in a balljoint, and passengers side window discoloured. Ill settle for that. I will get an invoice from the garage which explains the incorrect mileage. I really dont care about that right now. Time to insure and tax it :-D

The good thing is that it has ended up needing no parts, to fix it or test it. It has had a full service, including changing the gearbox oil but I had all the filters and fluids bought as that was in line to be done when it stopped. It dis need the brakes freed off after standing for 7 mo ths, thats all. So it will have cost me maybe 70 quid of fuel, it was full, a couple hrs or so labour, an mot, and the unnecessary ecu set. I may take the mix oetrol/diesel, when I put gabby back on the road it can run on 40 litres veg and 10 litres diesel/ petrol mix :rofl2:

Bigpug a bit dirty after 300 miles at 38.3 mpg which I am happy with, back in her rightful place at the front of the drive on the smooth bit where she belongs. The caddy on the bumpy bit and the new Leon at the back on the requiring attention bit. It has MOT on Wednesday and won’t get taxed till February appears.

I’m loving bigpug again it was bliss at 6am this morning with heated seats on cruising in to the airport taking son in law 1 in for his time offshore.

Good news that you and bigpug have re-kindled your love affair. Long may it continue.
