I got a email survey from privilege today about 13.30 asking me about my experience on the phone with their representative. I just told the truth about how disgusted I was with him. Hey presto 1 hr later got another email saying my claim is approved and the money should be cleared in the next 24 hours. I checked my bank at 1500 and its paid out! Goes to show what a moan and threat to go elsewhere can do. Still im not going on a car hunt until I see if I can get bigpug going.

Cheers Van. I'll give them a shout.

I'm really happy with Hagerty for the Lada and the van, just there needs to be one car on "normal" cover, and Adrian Flux are currently ripping me off to the tune of £100+ a month.

Shame really as when I started using them their customer service was great...but even that's gone down the pan these days. Seriously, they're a big enough concern that they should be able to deal with a change of details on a weekend...

A little over fond of computer generated correspondence but that really is the only fault I have found.

I've with LV for both home and car... Totally happy with them in all respects...

Had a really bad experience with Adrian F*cks: had the C15 with them, briefly; out of the blue, they gave me a couple of weeks notice of cancellation, no explanation, no refund, nothing - .NOT impressed.

As for change of details, LV scored high when I got the red Cherokee about a week before the cover on the green one expired, so I phoned them (0800 No:) over a weekend, to do the renewal but also to change vehicle, exactly the same (save colour - irrelevant), even the same No: (transferred on-line) except a year older. No problem, although preium went up £5 or £10 - bizarely, because it wasn't an "Orvis" (ltd edition).

Premiums always go up Van... That's as certain as death and taxes  Goodness knows how insurance companies determine prices - they must use a random number generator. Likely the same one as Citroen use to calculate the cost of spare parts

Sorry Jim, obviously not making myself clear; don't now recall if the renewal premium was more than the year before, what I meant was there was a slight increase when I gave them the details of the "new" (red) Cherokee.

And that was what I was meaning Van! Always when I used to advise even a small change of policy the cost always went up... I was amazed when my Pixo reverted to her original registration mark - after Sian put her private plate on retention - LV never put the premium up nor charged an admin fee... I nearly fell off my chair in shock

I was also pleased/impressed that there was no admin. fee which, ordinarily, would've been more than the premium increase - but a little surprised that there should be a difference between 2 such similar vehicles.

Have to say, even more surprised & pleased when I got the Eldorado & the girl at RH said, yes, I think we can do that (i.e. transfer the cover from the Seville) same premium, no fees, even though it was a quite different car, LHD, 2 years older - & worth 5 times as much!

Santa has arrived with presents for bigpug. Hopefully she will respond to her pressies and awaken from her slumbers. Monday or the next dry day after that should be interesting.

The parts have came just as I have a really busy week ahead, and as it gets dark here at 3.30pm. It shouldn’t take long to swap the ecu and bsi and the key fob and hopefully she will go without any problems.

Don't forget, being so far North, it's actually getting dark later than it is down here. Not known as the dark days afore Christmas for nothing, you know.

We are lucky if we have 8 hours of daylight just now. And that’s on a bright day. With the present stormy weather it may never be real daylight the next day or two!
