Those Mercs sounded good, but probably best you kept away!
I looked at Civics before I bought my first C4, but didn't really like them. I'm suprised that it's much easier to get in & out of than the VTS, although having a door which is still in the same county when open may be better. Sounds like a good buy anyway.

It seems to have a higher and more upright driving position and coupled with the door as you say Peter in the same county and auto will make it far easier for me. It would need two replacement doors on passenger side and probably near enough a full respray to make it right which I don't think it will ge. As long as it proves mechanically good it will do. It renders the vts somewhat redundant though even though it is a better car. I am now advertising it for 3100 so see what happens. Then I will be without a French car for the first time in 7 years. Pics of the honda and its damage will be posted soon. I have no idea if it will be done up or run as is. I suppose that depends if I got doors in the correct colour, black!!!

Well I don't own a pug van anymore. It sold at the auction last night for £80 less than I bought it for 6 months ago. I put on a used tyre and an intercooler hose and changed oil and filters, and got the brakes slackened up n my ownership. Cheap motoring then. Got someone wanting the vts buts wants to swap a bmw 316 for it. Would be bad enough if said beamer was say 04, 05, buts its v reg. I am saying no more :rofl2:

It could be worse, it could be an Audi he wants to swap it for...

I see on Thainstone specialist auctions website they have a 2003 peugeot expert 2.0 hdi van mot till feb2014 and 89000 miles on the clock. Sounds familiar! I'm not particularly worried that I put a heap into auction, you pays your money and takes your chance. As far as I know it needed a thermostat, comms unit, brake balance sensor, wheelbearing or whatever it was that was making the noise. Thats why I couldn't be bothered trying to sell it myself. Not my problem now, I've got my payment for it. :)

That's a good attitude Davie :-D No stress, no worries.

You've successfully put an SEP* Field around it  Well done!

I decided to join a Honda Civic forum to ask a couple of questions about the japscrap. I posted in the introduce yourself section and a query about timing belt interval and 6 days later no replies to either post. Not as friendly as here then. Still need to get the C4 changed for a C5 auto then and fix the scrapes on japscrap and flog it!

You'll have to search hard to find a friendlier forum than this one Davie. The only one I know is Club-XM :)

Hondas are beautifully engineered and quite lovely but the engine can be a problem due to the alloy block - it does not have steel liners so if any wear or damage occurs it's curtains for the engine at huge cost. Good second-hand ones are rare and cost hugely.

Thats enough of that then. Two passenger side doors needed, a bit of filling both quarters and back drivers door, a bit of paint and sell for a profit. Thats its future.

A three way deal has just been negotiated which will see the vts leaving me and me getting a highly modded toyota celica gt4 which will be changed for a mitisubishi shogun 2.5 diesel sport. That will be me citroen less and french car less :( just until I can get the civic sold and look for a cheap c2 1.6 vts or gt for fun. Double fun cos I'll drive up mountains in the shogun

 Was the previous owner of your Civic a stunt driver?

A Shogun Sport, that doesn't compare very closely with a C5 automatic  However, at least you have found a deal with your C4, which is a great car.

So that Civic has been through a very narrow gap!

What a wheeler dealer you are Davie! Shame to get rid of the C4, but needs must etc.
