Have to see if we can meet up then Alasdair. By then I should have Gabby in her new coat of paint and looking different. Lilpug will be the exact same and gawd knows what else I will have, if anything. May still be bigpug. Who knows, once she is running right I could fall for her again.

Gabby is going to an ex Citroen dealer foreman mechanic on Monday morning to get her height corrector sorted out. She rides far too high at the front, and is now going up and down of her own accord at times. Not right up or right down just a little bit that I'm sure she didn't before. This guy claims he was the main man for doing suspensions on them 20 years ago, so I want her lower so thought I would try him. His garage is 4 miles from the house and on the bus route, as is the house so if he knows his stuff then he will be a good guy to know.

I'm lying awake which is a dangerous time for me. I've been thinking about my transport issues now I have two cars needing attention. I've kind of decided to sell bigpug. I have not missed it in the slightest which is one of the reasons it's still broken.so it's going to go to a garage and get fixed then moved on. Gabby is going to get her issues fixed, I absolutely love that car. I am coming to the conclusion that she is too old and too many miles to be subjected to the constant abuse of pizza deliveries and all other running she gets, usually in the region of 500 miles a week. So she is going to be sorted mechanically and be my test my bodywork skills in repainting her myself in the spring or summer. Lilpug us staying put for my investment and auto car for when my left leg is not working. So, pizza deliveries. I need something very cheap to run, small petrol for whatever I get for big pug, something which will be reliable and put up with hard use but will be easy to keep and I know what it will be. Another 107/c1/ago. I have been browsing tonight and came across a c1 splash, a limited edition with nice spec on a 60 plate which is a write off for less damage on the front bumper than is on Shauns one, only done 31000 miles for £1600. Seriously good value. Also another 60 plate c1, a basic poverty spec with 30k and a cracked rear bumper for just over a grand. There's also a 61 plate 107 sportium, the twin of Shauns one, only 17000 covered slight scrape on front wing and I mean slight, and a broken front bumper mount, which Shauns one has too! Again not much over a grand. All would go back on the road without a penny spent if I'm not fussy and its a workhorse for work. And if I wanted to be fussy none of them would need much to be immaculate. Then Gabby could get semi retired, only used on my longer runs to Elgin to visit my daughter, and Aberdeen to visit a friend which whacks on nearly 100 miles at a time and usually both done almost once a week. That's my thoughts just now. The best one of The three is in Carslile, which is the closest of the three, which I can get to on city link gold coach which are super comfy, and faster than the train with my Scottish government bus pass for disabled or elderly without costing me anything. I know a 17k or a 30k 107/c1 will be totally reliable in my hands, and cheap to run, possibly not loved, but treated with respect then Gabby can be loved along with lilpug. That's my ramble for tonight, will any of it happen? Who knows lol

That sounds like some very good and wise planning to me Davie :D

Bigpug, with all her complications, will always be a PITA and if you've honestly not missed not having her then get rid soonest!

Gabby has done you proud and she'll continue to bring pleasure long into her semi-retirement...

And a great plan to use her as your body work skills practice-piece!

I cannot fault your choice of practical vehicle for doing the pizza work - you know my thoughts on the C1/107 well enough :)

Shame you just missed Zel's but it appears there's some good bargains to be had...

At those prices it's hard to go wrong with a 107 etc...As I've said before, mine still drives like a brand new car after 9 years and 63K miles. Only reason I've looked to move it on is that it's never being used these days.

Seems there are a lot of bargains to be had!

I know they are brilliant for doing the pizza runs, having used our existing one for quite a while doing it. I'm negotiating on a 61 reg white sportium with 31000 miles on it just now. It was a cat d in 2015, bumper, wing and headlight, still the same owner since it was repaired. And in my hands it will get serviced and more importantly the oil checked between services so the engine should do a lot more than 95K lol. Speaking about his 95K one, he still has not been and put the front of it back together. Claims he has no time and moans about fuel use on his mx5. Of course he could fix his Skoda diesel, all it needs is an alternator. He is more interested in a girl right now. I have given up and stopped nagging him. Not my problem, and I'm not going fixing for him, and given his track 're Ord I suppose it won't be long before the Mazda breaks. Time for all my keys to be kept together, on a chain around myself at all times lol

Shocked to the core that Shaun has still not got his 107 sorted Davie....

Take it. deprive him of it and make him use his MX5 as his only car ;)

And if he breaks it - tough - you need the 107 for your work. End of...

It would solve a few issues right enough Jim. I take the 107, ok it has 95k on the clock but just a 15k engine, and he gets his Fabia going again for his fuel consumption. He has the Mazda for back up, I have Gabby for back up and the 205 is special. Job done

I have just negotiated my way into the 61plate 107 sportium. Spoke to the owner and it is newly serviced, and a full service, has two new rear tyres and allegedly really good condition. It had a wing, bumper and door repair in 2015. I am totally unconcerned about it having a bump. I get free Megabus travel, and the lady will fill it of petrol, so it's a free collection too. And for less money than Zel wanted for his 09 plate with twice the miles.

Davie, you realise that you are starting to go in circles so when you have bought the Pug 107, after keeping it a while you must trade it for a C4 VTS!
