So do I :D

I'm so pleased you and Gabby are getting on so well Davie :)

I'm as bad as you, since I've had Sally my poor old Pug of Love had been ignored - except to reset her clock to GMT this morning...

There'll be a little Christmas present for Gabby in the post tomorrow ;)

I've been waiting for today (well, tomorrow) to reset the clock since I had the battery out a moth ago :)
No point in doing it twice

Filled mine up yesterday Davie - £1.20/L - ours is usually less than yours but mine doesn't much like ASDA fuel, loves Torq though.

Asda is 25 miles from the house. The two fuel stations here, one is esso the other is gleaner are 123.9 for derv. Im not sure the tank capacity of a xantia. I think it is 65 litres which means I did have a bit to spare. The needle was just above the red when I filled. Im only going to put in new veg if I get it less than 80p a litre. Cant be bothered for any smaller a saving than 40p

My Torq station is two miles away and on my way to work, not that I ever go then.
ASDA is 8 miles away in a direction I rarely go, or 15 in a place I visit perhaps once a year.
C5 doesn't do well on ASDA juice though.
Also 65L tank that actually once accepted 72L :yikes:
I can usually use the car for three days after the light comes on but pushed it a bit further on that occasion as I had to go to hospital in Newcastle.
Must have been very close.

Yep, 65 litre tank on a Xantia...

How you can run to the red is beyond me... I start getting twitchy when the gauge nudges the half-way mark and fill up as soon as possible when it does...

The miles I do, the cost of fuel is really pretty much irrelevant. I always use Esso as that is my nearest garage that is not normally rammed full of cars queueing for the pumps...

I don't do queues...

Normally the car doesn't go very far and is rarely more than a mile from a petrol station.
Very few miles done in a normal week - did 500 miles on the last tank, in 5 weeks.
Only fill up once a month or less unless there is a rally on or Bob takes it to Scotland, in which case it gets filled up before the journey and then on return.

Poor Gabby is looking a bit unloved this morning, although she is loved. Its just because although dry today there has been a lot of wet weather, and I have had a few country deliveries, and the country roads around here resemble farm tracks at the moment, with farmers getting crops, and tatties lifted and carted about in tractors and bogies. There is more mud on the roads than there is in the fields lol. The eagle eyed amongst you may also notice a bit missing due to having to reverse park in close proximity to bigpug! I managed to knock the front numberplate off of her. I would need to give Gabby a wash, but I have too much other stuff to do, including going to get lilpug and giving her a run, its been 4 weeks since I last saw her!

Driving the autoshite I've been driving for years, filling them up could be a massive waste of money in case they break down..

She has now covered 2000 miles since you last saw her! She has developed a squeak from the front left brake. An inspection is planned, I will take out the pads, clean them and reassemble with copper grease wher necessary. Here she is saying hello to lilpug

Lilpug started as expected first kick of the starter, taken up to the house running perfectly. I love that wee car!
I am currently waiting the AA to come interrogate bigpug who is now not starting.

Good old Lilpug 😊 The joys of nice, simple and basic engine management!

Davie, I let you have some spare calipers for Gabby didn't I?

I have actually filled the Focus up with Shell V-Power today, to the brim. It only holds 50 litres I think!

It won't last that long, a 2.5 petrol turbo is not efficient.. well, it's more efficient than a V6 Xantia auto, but that's not saying a lot. I'm taking up to SCC in St. Albans on Tuesday for a Stage 1 remap. If it's going to do 28mpg, it can do it with 280BHP rather than 225...

I don't think one buys a car like that if one cares too much about mpg. It's actually not bad on the motorway, it does a steady 40mpg if you bumble along around 75-80 mph.

I shall be purchasing a C4 GP in the next few days for Mrs. Mike, that will be rather more efficient..
