That is very addictive Peter. I own up to doing that once yesterday overtaking a lorry on the A9 north of Inverness. And i once managed that in 5th gear on a runway, which in the dark looked suspiciously like the m6 on the way home from that meet

I'm glad it's been thoroughly tested!

Here is photos of LEZ as she sits right now. No stickers on her now. I couldn't resist putting a photo of lilpug with her new spoiler, foglights and black bumper since it's the first photo taken since they were fitted!

Well LEZ6446 is now sitting in my drive.
....Much snippage....
However I am sure her new owner will love her. There now just needs to be a bit of a logistical nightmare moving her about 6 or maybe even 700 miles!
If you can get the C4 to York* this weekend, and all the paperwork is in order, then I can run it down to Sussex Sunday evening and probably get it to its new owner (if all the stars align !!) Monday
*- I'm fully aware that York is nowhere near the wilds of Scotland
Arrangements are now made for Peter to have his car on Sunday. I really hope he is happy with it. I gave it a good look over today, it is similar age and mileage to big pug, and I would say in better condition. Not perfect, but it is 10 years old, and a quick wash and polish will work wonders

Davie, I'm sure LEZ will be getting plenty of attention soon, I know my daughter wants to clay bar and polish her Clio this summer so ideal opportunity to work together and do them both! (And the roof won't need doing on LEZ!)

There are tar deposits round the wheelarchs, so a good clean wont go amiss. Ill maybe throw a bucket of water at her before you see her even though by the time you get home she will be filthy again. I will see how i feel. I have two of my own needing a wash so once I have the power hose and stuff out another wash wont take much.
I dont know what you use for black cars, but I always used t-cut colour coded polish on LEZ and she always came up gleaming as you know. Its the best stuff i ever found for black or bright red (obviously a different bottle lol) but its crap for any other colour.

I use Poorboy's Black Hole followed by Natty Paste wax, probably much the same as the Colour Magic! The Natty wax is good as you can use it when the car is wet so no problems when after a carefull drying that big drop of water runs down from under the window trim!

Oooh...That's a good tip...May need to look into that. Always one pain on trying to wax either the Lada or Skoda is that they have so many water traps that it's nigh on impossible to not have that happen...
Current fleet:
07 Volvo V70 SE D5, 88 Renault 25 Monaco, 85 Sinclair C5, 84 Trabant 601S, 75 Rover 3500, 73 AC Model 70.
Its almost inevitable, no matter how well you think you have dried the car, that you will either be applying the polish or buffing it up when the blob of water sneaks out of somewhere and makes you turn the air blue!

Well this morning I gave LEZ a wash and dry and checked tyrepressures, oil ecc ready for her long journey today. I was pleased to see she came up well with just a wash. However one of the tyre pressure sensors is knackered and I douldnt check it, so I dug out the spare and fitted it for Peter. I knew it had a genuine alloy for a spare, as I bought it 4 years ago! The surprise was though it has a brand new never been on the road goodyear tyre on it. So off I went to Inverness airport to meet Peter. I expect it will be a few hours yet before ge gets home, and I will leave it to him to give his first impressions. We had a nice lunch in Inverness before he headed off down the A9 and I jumped on a bus home. Again I enjoyed my drive today, but again thought its not the car for me now. If it were a 2.0hdi vts instead of the 2.0i petrol for me would be better. However I have no intentions of swapping the 407 for one. I love the lazy v6hdi engine and auto in the 407 for laid back cruising too much!

It is official. Davie is a Top Bloke! Thanks again Davie!
Lez did indeed look very smart when I saw it peeping over the grass bank at Inverness Airport and closer inspection showed it to still be straight and shiny. Obviously a few bits need sorting as on any 10 year old car and as for all the camera mounts stuck on inside and out!
Anyway it drove faultlessly home and arrived at 3.30 am after one stop to buy a new phone charger (as the one I was using stopped working and trying to read a map on the M6 was difficult) and one stop for fuel for the car and me.
