After my disastrous try of a c2 sensodrive a couple of years ago I will never buy a semi auto. The one I bought was one owner 93k serviced at every 10k by citroen dealer then citroen specialialist absolutely unmarked, I took it home and I loved it on the open road, but it was poor in town. If I remember I paid £900 for it and thought it was a bargain. Until one day it would not start. I called the AA, they couldn't do a thing with it, so towed it to my nearest citroen dealer. It proceeded to get £1100 spent on it, of which I had to pay 1/2 of it, so that was it costing me 1500. I had no faith in it, it was slow and Jerry and sold it for 800. So I owned it for 4 months, it was in the dealers for 9 weeks waiting for parts, I covered about 1100 miles in it and lost 600 quid. So never again! I saw it for sale for spares/repairs not selecting gears a few months after that with only another 4000 miles covered. C3 have a mixture of fully auto and sensodrive, I told my mate not to buy a pluriel, because the roof leaks and breaks, and if he did avoid the semi auto. He proceeded to buy a pluriel sensodrive, his roof leaked then broke quite quickly, now it won't start, it's the same as mine e was, stuck in gear as it stopped and his car is basically worthless. Both the autos I now have are proper slush boxes. I hope they are reliable.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172585708583
This one, although vastly overpriced is a full auto.

I bought a Pluriel recently with the same issues. Check the fusebox under the hood. Water ingress might have caused damage there just like with mine....

That's a massive price... It would need to be very, very good for that...

How about a 207 Auto Davie?

A 207 auto would be good for a cheap daily for me. I didnt particularly like any of the 206 that i have had. They are not a patch on the 205. Ive just been and got it out of kerris garage, and abandoned the leon down there. I thought it was time the 205 and 407 became acquainted. They seem to like each other. Thats a set of waterproof seat covers and tailored floor mats into the 205. I now need to trace where the water is getting into the boot. Its taken about a week for the felt soundproofing/underlay from the boot to dry out in the house. The prime suspect given where it was wettest is the passenger side rear light. I need a helper with a hose and me in the boot to see whats happening. I need to be sure i have stopped the leak before the underlay and mats go back in.

In my experience the 205 was brilliant, best small car ever. The 206 was utter rubbish in comparison and a very big disappointment to me. I know as Robyn had one for a while...

The 207 is a fundamentally good car... Not particularly inspiring or characterful but well-built, solid, simple and very reliable. They seem to be lasting well too. They also seem to be quite affordable too going by the eBay classifieds...

I hear the 208 is even better...

Im thinking now im going to keep the leon for deliveries. I need to keep a manual really and it is exceptionally cheap on fuel, and despite it being a bit rough round the edges is fundamentally a good car. It may well have 184000 on the clock, but the engine has only just over 100k on it and it drives really well. It has mot and road tax paid until december so its a no spend car. It will also be handy to loan to family and friends who find themselves carless for any reason. It can be loaned out on the condition of you break it you bought it, which wont take a lot lol

Davie, grab yourself a bottle of talcum powder and go to town around the area you think water is getting in. Anywhere water has run through it will then be visible. It's fine and easy to vacuum up when you're done too.

I need to do the same in the boot of the Lada actually - though I've a choice of at least three places I can see daylight to start with.

...No sound deadening or foam to worry about though, just a rubber mat! So drying it out is easier.

That would be far easier than me sitting in the boot looking for it! All i know so far is thar its the left side somewhere.

The 407 got treated to two new uniroyal rain expert today bloody huge tyres! 235/45x18. 90 quid each from camskill delivered here, no extra delivery charge, and they arrived the day after ordering, and 10 quid each tyre fitting. The bridgestones werent completly done, but quite bad on the inside edge, and poor grip in the wet. An inspection of the brakes etc when the wheels were off revealed nearly new pads and discs and no signs of problems on flexi hoses, calipers or pipes. The car has only done 3000 miles since its last mot, there was advisories about brakes and front tyres so i would say the brakes have been done, actually looking through the wheels on the back even both calipers look new. Its all looking good for its looming mot. Ive also decided after chatting with 2 other v6 hdi owners on here that the gearbox oil is going to get the 3 times changed, and its going to get remapped. It does suffer from turbo lag from rest, and kickdown seems a little slow. I took Shaun to collect his civic type r this morning. It was at a mates house about 10 miles away. All the way there he miscalled the 407. When he got the civic, and i know he was driving it hard because he was hitting the limiter in the gears, he couldnt pull away from me in acceleration! He would run rings around it on the corners, but in straight line speed its very even.
