Yep, it's 4 speed. It's quick off the line, being basically the 1.6 gti engine, the gear changes are almost unnoticeable. When cold it holds on to the gears a bit longer, it just uses 1st and 2nd in the town until it warms up then uses 3rd too. 4th must be like an overdrive, it won't go into it until at least 40. It's comfortable and smooth for a small car. I am going to fit the gti front and wheels. I really like them. The wheels can change back in no time, and the front spoiler come off also in minutes. It just fixes onto the front bumper and once removed will leave holes on the bottom edge of the bumper. And it won't be this bumper, I have a brand new genuine bumper too so I will use it. Anything I will do will be reverseable in little time with little effort. I am going to buy seat covers, the seats are unmarked and I want to keep them that way. Light grey and me do not mix that much, I tend to be a dirt magnet lol. Tailored mats will also get fitted, keep the floor looking like new. I cannot believe how good a car I have got for so little money. 4 new tyres, two new headlights, recent battery, recent cambelt, recent exhaust. In fact if you count that lot up it would come to more than I paid for it. I will categorically state this is a keeper, and the value will only go one way, so as well as being fun, it will be a good investment also.

That is a lovely looking little car. I would DEFINITELY keep it as close to standard as possible, but I would add the fog lights (and get them set up properly), as they can be a life saver.

That's lovely! I'd leave it as standard though! I'd also keep it in a nice dry lock up and only use it on special occasions.

You now need a tow-ball on the Leon and a trailer to trailer the 205 to shows... and a nice soft car cover to keep it free from road debris while on the trailer.

Im really torn just now. I just want to drive the 205 everywhere i go just now, it has made that much of an impression. But its too good to be whacking mileage on to it. Theres another couple of 205 autos on ebay, with lots more miles and not so good nick that could do as dailys, but priced in one case over double what i paid for this. I have got a job planned for it, waxoyl underneath and dinitrol into the box sections, sooner rather than later!

That might be a good idea. It may only have done 33000 miles but it's 24 years old. We do have a 205 bol I'll have to look see if it covers the auto too.

Nice wee car Davie. I love the vision you get from the amount of glass. That seems to be gone from moderns. The AL4 is a seamless gearchange eh? I remember it from a ZX.

The 205 is going to go into Kerri's lock up and only come out on dry days. The rent is due on it at the start of April, she pays it in one go for the year, it's only just over 100quid, that's just the site rent so I will pay that this year, the garage building itself is hers. I have been off colour a bit since collecting it, and i suppose I will be again later this week delivering the xantia. I'm taking a set of alloys down to Steve Trainman for his c5 on the way. I'll have to give the xantia a last wash and hoover tomorrow or Tuesday prior to the long drive on Wednesday. I shall be citroen less next weekend [emoji53] I've only had the xantia 14 months. In hindsight it wasn't really the right car for me. Had it been a v6 I probably wouldn't have sold it. Do u regret buying it? I did for a start when the clutch went, but not now. I had a xantia itch and it needed scratching. Even allowing for the work I have done to it, it's only cost me just under 100 quid for the year, that will include my travel costs this week. That's good, 100quid plus of course fuel tax and insurance for 5000 miles fun, and every mile has been fun. So for just now I will be using the Leon daily and the 205 an outing in the dry occasionally. However I know me, there's something in my noddle and I may not be citroen less for that long!

As the Eagles say Davie 'You can check out any time you like but you can never leave..'

They really must have been singing about Citroen ownership in Hotel California ;)

My last photos of the activa all cleaned up and ready for its 550 miles tomorrow. I'm intending leaving here at 6am, meeting Trainman for a stop which will be over 1/2 way. Bnb on Wednesday night, do the deal Thursday morning then make my way to Luton to easy jet home at tea time. I very nearly did another ooooopppppsssssie last night but resisted a c5 v6 in east London which I could happily have driven home. It didn't have leather though, and was only my 3rd choice colour, and if I ever do get a v6 it has to be exactly what I want[emoji4]

Thats my home town of Portsoy where i was brought up from zero to 50 years old. A lovely spot looking over the caravan site to sea and the east braes. I spent a lot of my childhood out those braes exploring. A very pretty village.
