If you take the VTS to the National, I'll do my best to bring mine as well so we can see the twins together!

Just cleaned the inside of the removal van vts haha. I've decided I'm not doing that again. No more removal jobs. I've managed to scratch most of the interior plastics, certainly in the boot, and in the back seat   The ones in the back seats are only hardly visible, but more so in boot area, although there might have been scratches there already. Would have been far better off renting a transit van and taking everything at once rather than 4 runs in car for all my shed stuff. Oh well we learn by our mistakes.

As for the national, I am going to be there, most likely in the c4, but if no-one else bids on a certain v6, never know could be in a £77 V6 [-o< :-D

Thats what I get for saying and praying I might be at the national in a V6, 1/2 hr later get an e-mail from the bay saying all bids retracted do to item no longer available. Oh well saves me getting hooked on it and having to decide to lose a V6 or vts as I could not have kept them both.

That's a bit of a swizz, I bet they withdrew it as they want more for it despite saying no reserve.
Hope the plastics in the boot aren't too bad. Have you tied Armor All or similar as that can hide marks quite well?

Thing is though V6s are perceived as being expensive to run and thus their values are really quite low, particularly at this very time when there seems to be quite a number on the market.

They're actually quite economical to run for a full three litre automatic and gearbox aside, are utterly bombproof and very dependable...

Davie, if I ever see you at a rally with my Xantia V6 you can have a ride in it but the problem is the V6 is my winter daily driver and is unlikely to be at any rallies this year.

It would be unfair to let you loose in my XM V6 as that'll just blow you away. It may have the same engine and gearbox as the Xantia V6 but there the similarity ends most empathetically...

If I were to get let loose in your xm, I maybe wouldn't stop for 500 miles

I've never tried Armour all, the worst bit of damage in my boot is actually the speaker grille on the sub. I may manage to find a replacement grille, or with taking it off, might get behind it and take out the misshaped bit!

Didn't work very well, but you can see how it's going.
Fitted to car

It shows the look I'm afte, but window tint not the best for the job, It doesn't stretch enough even when heated to go on smooth. Think I'll get a piece of gloss black vinyl wrap and try that

Nice idea Davie! I wonder if you should cover all the red parts with black? How much does the proper stretchy black film cost though? I suppose it can't be as much as a set of new style lights.

I took that little styling mod off, due to not getting a good finish on it. I'm not too keen on blacking out the red light at the bottom, as it is the tail and brake light, and if I do blacken it a bit and someone rear ends me don't know how I would stand. I've been busy lately, dunno where I would find the time to work haha. On the run up to friday was tied up with the house sale and separation, then went to Dundee for the weekend, staying with a pal. 110 miles each way covered in total comfort, cruise set to 55 on single carriageway, and 65 dual carriageway south of Aberdeen. 37.4 mpg on the trip, I'm happy with that for a 2.0. Got home on monday, gar had been attacked by a flock of birds, and what looks like a scuff from someone elses shopping bag on the bonnet. Why do people rest their shopping on others cars?????? 8astards. So tuesday spent 5 hours washing, hoovering, t-cutting, polishing, waxing and sticking side graphics on. I took before and after photos on my new smartphone, but have not looked at how to get them on here. I presume if I connect it to my wireless router and just add them, but not tried yet. Knowing me and technology it will take weeks to figure out  :-D It shows not fit for work yet, I am suffering a bit today, still off 4 weeks yet though. Still 5 hrs in one go is more than I could manage even a few weeks ago. I need to push it a bit, but not too much, or else that will be setback time. I'm kinda glad really that I didn't get that V6, I think if I were to try a xantia, a hdi would be the choice for economy when I do return to work, I am a bit closer but still 84 miles a day I will be.

I think it was the right decision to take the black film off the lights, really you need Fly Eyes or similar so you know it's 100% legal.
Sounds like you had a good weekend & the VTS performed (what did your friend think of it?)
Living by the coast, birds messing the car is a general hazard & a black car an open invitation! The careless shopper, well they may only think "it's a car", but it's "your" car & as such deserves they treat your property with respect. I hate that attitude & agree with your assesment of them. Gave you an excuse for an extended cleaning session though!. It sounds like your health is improving a bit, which is nice to hear.
Look out for a diesel Xantia Exclusive now, then!
