Well I was a commercial fishermen, we used lots of lead weights to keep our nets on the bottom, and i dare say I could find some in the shed. I can't help with wallet weights though. Due to having old citroens my monetary stocks are far too close to negative!

The rotten bugger of an activa has jinxed me, the berlingo and every motor factor on eBay and in the north east of Scotland. Stripped the front brakes of the blingo this morning, 3 pads still with about 7mm wear, one pad list the friction material. Calipers all ok, discs a bit of a lip but servisable. Then pulled the mintex box with discs and pads, which the supplier asked the model and the registration of the vehicle. You would think this would get the correct discs and pads. NO!!!!!! They do say peugeot partner/citroen berlingo on both boxes for pads and discs, but pads a different shape and although the disc is the correct diameter it's offset is different and the caliper won't go on. A bloody wasted morning. I decided not to touch the activas brakes, id rather get the pass with an advisory than knowing my luck just now breaking a bolt, getting the wrong one sent and missing the deadline for retest.

So because I blame the activa for corrupting everything car related here I took it out for some punishment. It was good fun, and then I did treat it to a decent wash and wax. On the whole not a great day. I think someone, somewhere is trying to stop me fixing cars myself. I will have to take heed of this as the spasms and sciatica has returned this evening and i have had to resort to multiple meds again and watching the x factor just to let me know there is worse things than sciatica lol

Post up the vin and I'll check what should be fitted, but I can only see 266 dia x 22 thick, so not sure what you have got?

I now have the correct brakes for the blingo. It's on the jobs to do list along with discs and pads on the rear of the xantia, and the rear of Kerri's Audi.

Xantia has a new mot, total cost of it is £480. Also two tins of stonechip on to any bits on the underside that needed it. Just the paint to do now.

Hope all that brake work doesn't break you Davie but I guess once all is done you'll want a bit of a break from brakes ;)

I couldn't actually believe it this afternoon at my not retest. Both track rod ends been removed, one new steering arm fitted. All by myself, and refitted by myself with no measuring etc thinking I would get my tracking done after it. Once it was all fitted and mot issued Graham said take it for a wee run then come back and we will check the alignment. The car drove and braked perfectly straight, and the steering wheel dead straight. I came back and used his tracking bar, just a bar with brackets on the end so maybe not the most accurate, but as good as you used to get before thin laser stuff, and it was exactly spot on! I think I will start a new business doing alignment. Low start up costs, only need my eyes [emoji23] [emoji23]
