Got muddled up for a bit there Ben, its easy done. I did actually mean you. My second bar went off tonight at 186 miles. Jim's c1 won't be run in yet, the guys on the c1oc recon they need 5000 to 6000 miles before they are run in!BenC5HDi wrote:Who is Mike?

Re: Davie's french attraction.
I've got a friend called Fred. I'd known him as Fred for 10 years, maybe more. It was only when I picked up the post from behind his door one day that I discovered his name was actually Anthony! Simply didn't like the name Anthony and insisted he be called Fred from the age of about 14. He's 55! Weird. He's not even called Anthony Frederick... there's no trace of Fred in his real name.

Re: Davie's french attraction.
Dunno what my kids would say if I suddenly changed my name. Then again it wouldn't affect them. I will always just be dad. But their mum is now with a Mike, so it would be weird. I better just stay David to them then! As long as I don't become Davina and mum then I will survive [emoji12] [emoji13] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

Re: Davie's french attraction.
I started the 205 today and gave it a little run. It's the first start in 6 weeks, started instantly, like it had only been stopped 6 minutes! Drove it about a mile in total, everything working as it should. I think it's going to get done up a bit over the summer, then put on the road in October, and the xantia will go in the lock up for winter. It's only worth about £300, and I still like it so that seems sensible. My daughter only pays £80 a year for the lock up site from the council, I've given her that and she can still keep her spare wheels and mower etc in it. The line of garages is right at the back of her house.
I'm in the process of gathering all the bits I need for the activas clutch change. Also looking at flights down, just to see, and easyjet does aberdeen to Luton for £36 to £44, and Inverness to Luton for £17 up depending what time you fly. Why would anyone go to London any other way? I think it would need about £100 of petrol each way in the activa, and £50 each way in the 107, which good wee car as it it, I wouldn't fancy doing a 500 mile journey in it, although it would be quite capable of doing it.

I'll pick you up at Luton and run you up to Jim's when the time comes. Just let me know when as I've got leave to use up!

Re: Davie's french attraction.
I'm kind of wondering if it will fit in so I can get the X rally on 17th April, then drive home overnight. It is just a thought. That would be very kind of you Ben, much appreciated and it would be good to meet you. And I agree, Luton Airport would be close enough to London for me![emoji48]

Re: Davie's french attraction.
Well 107 news,,,,,,,,,,,there isn't any! Put petrol in, start it, go where you need to, stop it. Just about motoring perfection if all you need is a cheap small car.
Shaun has found a novel way of draining the engine oil on his skoda every 3000 miles. That's maybe a bit too often, I say he could easily double that. It's break his sump. That's the joys of working in a quarry and having coil overs on the car, wound down as low as possible and 35 section tyres! He has picked a poor time though, when we don't have a spare car which is roadworthy, or taxed. He wants the 107 for his work on Monday, but I need it at 4pm, he is not home until 6pm. That does not work!
Speaking about shaun. He thinks I have lost the plot and completely off my rocker. He says I shall never see the xantia again. Given it to some random guy 600 miles away and let another random drive it home for me? He says it's gone. My response to this was to campy say 205gti ready yet? It has been on a random farm, to get welded by some random guy, has been there 6 months, it's only both sills and one chassis led needing strengthened. And it's only 12 miles away! Will he ever see that again? I offered him a £100 bet that mine would be home and back being enjoyed long before his one is. He declined lol

Some random guy? Cheeky monkey

I suggest you direct him to my Facebook page Davie and then, give him my phone number and get him to give me a call if he has any doubt whatsoever over my integrity

Or even just show him this forum...
