Re: Davie's french attraction.
Well, I've wasted two days. Did too much on Friday clearing out my shed and dumping years worth of crap before the coming move. I found out there's a reason why I'm signed unfit for work, still not feeling to great yet after two days of pain and stiffness. I'll take this as a warning that the injections I had in my back two weeks ago are not a cure, I still have problems and have to pace myself. 4hrs in shed = 2 days lost. Lifes a bugger sometimes
Here's hoping tomorrows better.

Davie, I know exactly what you're going through there. Different reasons and causes in my case but the end result can be the same if I push it too hard and I'm still apt to at times. I could have written your quoted linedaviemck2006 wrote: 4hrs in shed = 2 days lost. Lifes a bugger sometimesHere's hoping tomorrows better.

It's why these days I pace myself very carefully and plan in exquisite detail any activity that's more than the normal routine...
I'm already planning for next weekend. Sunday particularly...

You're a brave man Davie, clearing out the shed is one of the things that can reduce anyone feeling 100% fit to a quivering mass, let alone if you're not so good! Hope you have recovered a bit today & can take it easy. We even have a bit of sunshine, hope you do too.daviemck2006 wrote:Well, I've wasted two days. Re: Davie's french attraction.
A bit better just now. Biggest problem is that I have to have this whole house packed up to move two weeks today. Get the keys of new flat tomorrow, removal firm doing all the hard work but I still have to get everything packed. Daughter on her way here just now, and my son is off all week so should get a lot done. No time for car stuff, it will have to stay dirty, exhaust blowy etc. Roof being fitted next monday, I have to take car to their depot in Aberdeen and they will have it 6 hrs. God knows what I'll find to do for that time!!!!!!!!

Marginally better than Starbucks I'll admit but I was mighty p******d off when last time I ventured into a Costa I discovered they don't do decaf

For someone who's intolerant* that's not good...
*Only of caffeine. Everything else I'm quite tolerant of...

I couldn't resist it. I bought one of the Fuji S2980 cameras from Asda. I am having fun with it (well, learning about its' abilities). I hope to be at X Rally this Sunday, I'll bring it along, so people can have a look if they want.

Re: Davie's french attraction.
Haven't got a camera yet, haven't even been shopping! I did find, whilst clearing out the boxroom upstairs a presumably old kodak easy share in its box. Must be the mrs old one. My memory card won't load into it, but my card is a sdhc one. I ordered a plain sd one off e-bay for £2.99, so if it works that will do for now, and I won't spend any more out of my exhaust fund. Speaking about the exhaust it is worse now, although it cant get any more worse. It's broken completely all the way round, just in front of the joint a couple of inches before the back box. It will have to last another month so some tin, gungum and a couple of jubilee clips will have to be tried. It's in no danger of falling off, it just sounds awful, might even be better if I were to take the back box off altogether!!!!!!

Re: Davie's french attraction.
I remember a story that my Mother told me, in that a man had his exhaust pipe fail (not a box). As it was a Sunday (and this was quite a few years ago), it was not possible for him to get any bits to fix the problem. As he needed his car to get to work, this (obviously) was a problem. While he was mulling the problem over in his head, he opened a can of Heineken. Halfway down the can he spotted that the can looked like it had a similar diameter to the failed pipe. He finished the can (well, who wouldn't), and then offered up the empty can to the pipe, and found he was right. He cut the ends off the can, dropped out the two halves of the pipe, fitted the can, secured it with a few loops of wire at each end, covered the lot with exhaust bandage (well, he was the sort of person to allow for most common problems), and "Hey Presto!", job done! He contacted Heineken and told them his story, to which they responded with (amongst other things) "It is nice to know that we also fix the parts other beers cannot reach!". The car got through its' next MOT with no comment about the exhaust.

It's along that lines I'm going to try. Only because I can't drink due to medication a can of monster will have to be a substitute. I'll let you know if it works. If I get it sealed I don't see how it could fail a mot. If the exhaust is not going to fall off, and is not leaking gases it should pass. The rest of my exhaust is like new. The genuine back box as far as I know is an expensive Item, it might appear on the bay when I do get the stainless.

If the back box is good, what about this centre section on ebay?daviemck2006 wrote:It's along that lines I'm going to try. If my back box had been like new, I wouldn't have bothered with the stainless exhaust.
