If it's a Bosch XUD then unlikely! I'm running 75% WVO 25% misfuel and it's been running great down to -6 so far. If you were worried 5% petrol wouldn't do any harm. Put some of your BD in a jam jar and leave it outside to see what happens to it.

You can add diesel if you like, but you'd need a lot more of it to have the same effect as a small amount of petrol. 5% petrol would have a signficant thinning effect, but like I say most likely you don't have to bother. Have you had any starting issues? What sort of temperatures are you seeing where you are? If it's commercial BD, the manufacturer might already have winterised it.

As the previous poster mentioned, the problem with low temps and bio fuels is viscosity. Your aim is to make sure it flows well(ish) even at start-up. Diesel helps but petrol helps a lot more as it's an extremely good solvent. Try it and see. You'll save money as well.Harlequin wrote:so adding petrol can help? or `regular` diesel?

Re: biodiesel and winter (1.9td)
running well now its above freezing - heard a vocal discussion when I went to get more earlier , apparently the provider doesn't `winter` the WVO as much as he should ........ but at £1 a litre its doing well
