That's all you need.

I was quite close today, comparatively - near Berowra diagnosing a facelift C5. Main cause of faults was a dying battery. I hate callouts where the basics haven't been checked properly.

am i right - due to low level of car battery some of faults may be issued ?

amazing stuff is that Antipollution fault may go away itself (according to some north countries pratice) but not on my car...even if i use 98 petrol now.

another fun is that one dealer (not Citroen) told me simply to ignore this particular fault . he is probably right because a quality of petrol here is still a question.
example:
i was using shell 95 (one particular petrol station at Woy Woy) couple months and everything was okay. beeing away i took shell 95 at Stratfield and got this fault on the next day...continue on shell 98 at Woy Woy but the issue still exists...
so different stations under one brand - but the different quality...??

at this stage i am almost submitting (

thanks mate :P

Yes, a crap battery will cause many faults to register. Antipollution and ABS/ESP most commonly, then engine speed coherence.

Leaning out (eg, running perilously low on fuel to the point of stumbling) can sometimes log a temporary fault with the oxygen sensor - I think due to flying bits of carbon shorting it internally.

I'm struggling with the same problem. Lexia 3 seems to have some problems communicating with a C5 II.
I did a Global Test and got the same result for the injection section:
Injection YES ?
Resetted fault codes but after a new Global Test there was still the same "Injection YES ?".

I found this notice in one of the Lexia 3 dealer's web page:
"PP2000/LEXIA-3 Interface works for both Citroen and Peugeot!
Compatible Vehicles
Description:
1.It is compatible with Citroen cars including: C1,C2,C3,C4,C6,C8,C-CROSSER,NEMO,BERLINGO,JUMPY,JUMPER,AX,SAXO,BX and so on. But please pay attention, according to our customer's experience, this item does not work good with C5 new models
. ..."

My Lexia 3 works fine with Xantia MK2 without any problems.

What version of Diagbox are you running ? 6.24 is the latest version that you can easily upgrade to with Internet update, if you're running an older version it might be worth updating.

Also what version of the actual Lexia software are you running ? Check my post earlier in the thread for how to find out your Lexia version.

These type of problems are almost certainly due to out of date software, not hardware interface problems. The more recent the car the more up to date the software needs to be!

I have the same hardware as seen in pic sent by ozzys which is a far eastern clone.
It came with version 345.13 and later updated it to 347.28 but still not working properly with C5 II.

Even 347.28 is ancient. Mine is 500.44 !

Does your installation even have Diagbox, or is it Lexia only ?

No Diagbox but Lexia and PP2000. Installed Lexia only.

I can't be sure but I still suspect the problem is with the Lexia software, it might be worthwhile to see if you can get a software image of a much later, near current version. (I'd recommend diagbox 6.24 which includes Lexia 500.44) I would upload an image of my copy but its a full 4.7GB DVD so I don't have anywhere I could upload a file of that size to. (Would take forever with 1Mbit upstream bandwidth anyway  )

My system has no problems with C5 restyles. It's an old version of Lexia, too.

What version ?

Even if the version number was high enough it could be a bad installation that had a missing or corrupt file, lets remember the Chinese clones are running hacked versions of the Lexia software, who knows how many different versions of the hacks there are floating around with the various clone interfaces. It would still be good to try running a known good installation, assuming that the software from one works on other interfaces.

Still seems unlikely to me that a faulty or badly designed clone interface would prevent communication with only one specific ECU on the car... which leaves either the ECU itself or the software.
