Citroen Saxo VTR?!? 2CV?!?citroenxm wrote:NOPE Will.. I want to transplant the WHOLE LOT! from C5 to something else!!
And NO, I tell you now it aint as slow as a 2.1 TD auto either! Its an AL4 semi electronic, so it doesnt sap up much if any engine power!

Sorry missed that bit. I have a feeling his is for your XM HDi project?
Doesn't that add more electronics to worry about with the box compared to an older AL4?
Just very nosey about it all

Re: Pauls HDI Xantia Exclusive.
All AL4s are the same... The older ZF 4HP18 saps too much power!
It will be a bigger project then a manual, as the autobox ECU talks to the engine ECU apparently... but, theres no rush for it, so, I want it to be RIGHT before I do anything. The engine has already rooved itself, uses no oil, or water, and turbo is nice and quiet.. so Im happy with that bit.

Re: Pauls HDI Xantia Exclusive.
Urrmm... the 51 plate hdi auto.... no.. the only things to look for rear arm bearings are weak like BXs were...
and the handbrake cables that run in tubes are a right PITA to change!!!
Front calipers handbrake lever return springs can be weak and give issues..
The odd door front n rear wont open one minute or unlock, then again it will!!!
But me, no issues just yet!!!

Not that I am aware of. It is the one he got from Citroenmad (IIRC). You may be thinking of the one he got rid off several months ago.
