As above, if they require you to put it in then its worth a shot if it saves you having to do the job and Forte isn't like Kseal and so forth....

Quite so Will, they said this quite distinctly on the instructions supplied with every replacement matrix...Hell Razor5543 wrote:There is one thing. IIRC Valeo require you to use Forte stop leak when fitting one of their heater matrixes for their warranty to be valid. I have got this from somebody else posting it up on the forum.
If it's good enough for Valeo...
Paul, I agree generally with what you say about rad sealers but Forte is the exception. I'm content to use it.

All 3 of my Xantias have had Forte in them - the HDi ran 80+k miles with it in. Matrix never leaked afterwards, and never had any other problems (except a slightly gunky header tank). Chuck some in and forget about the matrix. Anyway, you've got to get some use out of the CC once you get it working - I see on his blog Citro-electical wizard-Jim is visting at the weekend, he'll get it working...

I think it is mainly for the corrosion inhibitors and pump lubricants than they expect it to fail before it should.KP wrote:As above, if they require you to put it in then its worth a shot if it saves you having to do the job and Forte isn't like Kseal and so forth....

Right.. progress.. after the reciving of a 2000 ecu and body of computer from a very kind fellow member (THANK YOU SOOO MUCH YOU know who you are) which arrived this morning before I goto work I have installed the body computer and ecu AND swapped the ecu transponder chips from the supplied keys to my keys so I have been able to keep my lock set.
car starts and runs.. check
ecu has got cruise enabled.. check
I think I have still got the wires connected .. check
will try the cruise out on the way to work in 10 mins..
didnt need the security key card to enable the cruise either..

Re: Pauls HDI Xantia Exclusive.
Planned work to be done on the car.. Ive taken a couple of days off work...
Firstly I NEED to get the Cam belt and water pump done, I have these to do it..
While the cooling system is drained, I need to remove the radiator to get at the condenser seals as I have an air con leak, so first port is to fit a set of new seals.
I STILL havent got this cruise to work, so I need to get a CLOSER more concentrated look at the wiring and connections oneby one and do them properly.
Fit a pair of drop links as both of mine are now rattleing..

Re: Pauls HDI Xantia Exclusive.
Well, managed a bit today, got the Cam belt and water pump and coolant change done today.
Fitted two seals to the Condenser at the front, but I still have a TINY leak.
The cruise control is STILL annoying me. Ive checked and double checked the connections, and still no go HOWEVER, I found though on the way home today, when I was cruising and I just touched my left foot on the brake pedal the ECU actually disabled the throttle!!!! That was interesting, meaning that the No Connection curcuit is working. This is one that when the brake pedal is pressed it knocks the cruise off... however, I still cant get it to work...Hmmmmmmm...
